Hogwarts Mystery Update Includes Surprise New Location
The magical world of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is expanding once again with the latest update adding a new quest line that will transport fans of the Wizarding World to a village in Brazil while investing a case for the Ministry of Magic. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery not only lets players become a brand-new student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy but also allows fans to explore the world of Harry Potter beyond the castle walls and surrounding grounds of Hogwarts.
Despite mixed reviews, players first fell in love with Hogwarts Mystery due to its character customization and unique story that follows a different path from that of the Harry Potter novels. The story of Hogwarts Mystery takes place through the seven years of student life from 1984 to 1991, with the central plot of the game wrapping up just before Harry himself is due to begin his beloved adventure at Hogwarts. Players who complete the main storyline can then continue enjoying the game beyond wizarding graduation, thanks to additional chapters that have transported players across the globe and granted them a post-graduate career as adults. Previous travel chapters in Hogwarts Mystery from 2024 and more recently in Fall 2025 have transported players to Japan, Egypt, and even the United States, and Harry Potter fans will now be able to explore the magical side of Brazil in the latest update.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery Brazil Quest Update
The newest addition to Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery will take players to a magical fishing village in Brazil where players will be conducting an official investigation for the Ministry of Magic. Players will need to speak with the locals, discover hidden secrets within the small village, and solve the mystery to fulfill their duties as a diligent employee of the Ministry. There are already over 140 unique locations in Hogwarts Mystery, ranging from the familiar streets of London and greenhouses of Hogwarts to an Egyptian meet-up with Bill Weasley on behalf of Gringotts Bank and a visit to New York City to check on the Magical Congress of the United States of America. And yet this new quest update will be the first to introduce Latin America into the Wizarding World of Hogwarts Mystery.
A number of recent updates have greatly expanded the game’s offerings, with the addition of seasonal events like Back to Hogwarts and Dark Arts Month introducing festive fare, while the inclusion of herbology in Hogwarts Mystery has helped to expand gameplay variety. Many have been surprised by the longevity of Hogwarts Mystery, particularly after the massively popular launch of Hogwarts Legacy pulling the attention and interest of players, along with a consideration for the number of other Harry Potter mobile games that have fallen by the wayside. However, the expanded chapters and consistent updates to Hogwarts Mystery have not only helped to keep things fresh with new content but have made the Wizarding World feel larger and more alive, due to a focus on locations and quests beyond the limits of Hogwarts itself.
One of the biggest audience requests for a potential Hogwarts Legacy sequel has been the inclusion of more areas outside of Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, and Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is proof that the creation of a more vast and vibrant Wizarding World can draw in players, despite competition. The ability to not only experience life as a Hogwarts student but a career as an employee of the Ministry of Magic is something that has not yet been fully replicated elsewhere. If Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery continues to add more quest lines that transport fans to Brazil, Japan, and other far corners of magical society, the game’s already impressive staying power may carry it even further forward.
