How to Unlock All Lethal Equipment in BO7 Zombies
Black Ops 7 has 7 pieces of Lethal Equipment that you can equip in the Zombies mode, allowing you to harness throwables against the undead that will see them burn, explode, and cut until they’re put into the grave once more. Lethal Equipment can become a staple of your Zombies Loadout, so it’s essential that you’re bringing the best to the fight. As such, we’ve outlined the requirements for all Lethal Equipment in Black Ops 7 Zombies so that you know how to unlock it, the Salvage you need for it, what it actually does, and if it’s worth using.

Point Turret
A Mini Sentry Turret to Shoot and Distract Zombies
- Level Required: Level 33
- Salvage Required: 300 Salvage
The Point Turret is a small deployable sentry turret that will automatically shoot enemies when it’s thrown, and it can be used to distract and harm zombies. However, the effectiveness of the Point Turret is fairly limited, and it’s just going to be more of a nuisance to you and the zombies instead of an actual useful piece of Lethal Equipment. The Point Turret deals fairly average damage, and this is a detriment to you since it will actively disrupt your zombie trains by attempting to kill them and thin the herd, thus forcing more zombies to spawn. It’s best to just avoid the Point Turret, as while the concept is interesting, and can be fairly good in Multiplayer, it’s not the most efficient method of death for zombies when there are so many more options to kill giant herds at once, instead of just an idle bundle of bullets.
Cluster Grenade
A Scattering Explosive That Makes a Mess
- Level Required: Level 5
- Salvage Required: 250 Salvage
The Cluster Grenade is fairly decent at thinning the herd of zombies, as it’s an explosive that will split into clusters that create small explosives once detonated. These mini-explosions will spread into a cone radius and deal pretty decent damage, but they can also be a tad annoying to be hit by one. The cluster can be somewhat unpredictable, and even with PhD Flopper, you might get a tad stunned from the blast, especially when the hordes are running faster in the later rounds. As such, we wouldn’t recommend the Cluster Grenade simply because of its unpredictable scatter patterns and the fact that the damage simply isn’t as good or as concentrated as other options.
Molotov
A Burning Session for Zombies, Bears, and You!
- Level Required: Level 26
- Salvage Required: 350 Salvage
The Molotov can be a tad risky to use, as when thrown, it creates a patch of flames that will spread to zombies and the ground. While it’s nice to throw so that it can do its job by dealing tick damage to slowly burn zombies to death, it can be a little annoying to work with, as the patch of fire left behind might just see you burnt. Of course, it doesn’t deal a lot of damage to you, but if you’re trying to recover health, the last thing you’d want is to lose it to a patch of flame. The Molotov is fairly okay, and it’s nice to throw one at the Zursa Zombie Bears, since they’re weak to the Napalm Burst Ammo Mod, so why not add more fire to the mix? Just don’t give this to Nikolai.
C4
Stacks of 3 Explosives That Can Remote Detonate
- Level Required: Level 41
- Salvage Required: 400 Salvage
The C4 is a beloved explosive, and for good reason. With C4 equipped, you can carry a total of 3 charges, which can either be detonated individually or all at once (depending on your Combat Settings). The C4 provided is extremely powerful, and the fact that it can attach to surfaces means you can leave it stuck somewhere and come back to it when needed. However, despite the fun of the blast, C4 requires a bit of thinking power to use effectively. This comes from the fact that you’ll first need 3 charges, then, because you’ll have to basically set a trap by weaving between your zombie train until they’ve entered the blast zone. The lethality of the blast may harm you and your armor, and the delay in pulling the detonator might be too much risk as opposed to a simple throw of a frag grenade. Plus, it’s expensive to restock C4 with 400 Salvage per charge.
Frag
A Cookable Grenade That Makes the Dead Go Boom
- Level Required: Level 1
- Salvage Required: 250 Salvage
The Frag is the typical and classic design for the Grenade, and as always, it works like a charm. The cook time is generous, and can be manipulated so that you can throw it in advance to let the zombie horde catch up to it and explode, or cooked just enough so by the time you do actually throw it, it will explode upon detonation. It bounces off of surfaces and off of zombies, and is just generally effective Lethal Equipment. However, the Frag also requires you to hold your Lethal Equipment button to cook the grenade, which might eat into sprint time that you could be using to shoot zombies or run away, so it’s not entirely the best, but there’s also nothing wrong with using it.
Semtex
A Sticky Grenade for Timed Explosions
- Level Required: Level 12
- Salvage Required: 250 Salvage
The Semtex is a timed sticky grenade that will allow you to simply toss it, and run away from the blast before it goes boom. The Semtex is great for players who want an explosive Lethal Equipment in their Loadout, because it’s so fast and easy to use, with effective damage. All you need to do is press the button to toss it, which will occur so fast that you’ll question if you even threw it until you hear the beeping and see the explosion with your own eyes. It’s great for hordes, because you can throw it to stick it to a zombie, and then sprint away to get out of the blast zone and watch the bodies hit the floor.
Combat Axe
A Throwable and Retrievable Axe to Kill Zombies in One Hit
- Level Required: Level 54
- Salvage Required: 200 Salvage
The Combat Axe is the unparalleled champion. The best Lethal Equipment in Black Ops 7 Zombies is the Combat Axe, and there should be no competition here. The reason the Combat Axe is so good is that it deals infinite damage to zombies that it’s been thrown at, meaning you will always one-hit kill regular zombies. On top of that, you can pick it back up and throw it again, providing you with a constant weapon that will never leave you, unless you throw it out of bounds. You can also craft more Combat Axes for cheap at just 200 Salvage, meaning there’s a grand supply of effective throwing weapons that hit extremely hard and can be thrown extremely fast.
