Xbox Game Pass gem Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is coming to PlayStation 5 in December 2025. The indie ski racing sim has amassed an impressive audience on Xbox and PC since releasing earlier this year, and it’s about to expand to a whole new audience. It won’t be long before PlayStation 5 users can get in on the action and see what made the game a hit for themselves.

Developer Megagon Industries released Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title on January 21, 2025, before expanding to all tiers later the same year. The game’s predecessor, the mountain bike racer Lonely Mountains: Downhill, was likewise a day-one title on the platform. Despite those deep ties to Xbox, the series is following in the footsteps of many games as of late and making the jump to PlayStation.

Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders Is Coming to PS5 on December 3

Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders now has an official PlayStation Store listing, confirming it will arrive on PS5 on December 3, 2025. If the game’s reception among Xbox and PC fans is any indication, PS5 users won’t want to miss this one. It took less than a month for Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders to surpass 500,000 players, and in the months since, it’s broken the 1 million player mark. The PS5 version’s later release also means it’ll come with almost a year’s worth of patches and quality-of-life improvements, and it will support two-to-eight-person cross-platform multiplayer, so PlayStation and Xbox users can play together.

While Lonely Mountains: Downhill is available on PS Plus Extra, the same is not true of Snow Riders. Despite debuting on Xbox Game Pass, the so-called “ski-quel” won’t come to PlayStation’s answer to the service, so fans will have to pay full price for it. Thankfully, it won’t set players back much, as it will release at a modest price of $24.99, which may be a nice break amid a larger trend of rising game and hardware prices. The Highlands DLC, which is currently listed at $7.99 elsewhere, will also be available on the PlayStation Store.

Once-Xbox-exclusives have made a habit of jumping over to PlayStation lately. It’s easy to see why, too, as day-one Xbox Game Pass title Indiana Jones and the Great Circle sold faster on PS5 than it did on Xbox. Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is not a Microsoft-owned title, so it may be less surprising to see it come to PS5, but the expansion is still welcome news for fans.
