How to Get All Ghost of Yotei Armor Sets

There are 15 armor sets in Ghost of Yotei, each of which provides Atsu with two or three passive abilities. Players will get three of Atsu’s outfits simply by playing through the game’s main story, and two can be found in New Game Plus mode. The other ten will need to be unlocked by completing tales and bounties for the people of Ezo, or, in the case of the Snake Skin Armor, through paid DLC.

The best Ghost of Yotei armor sets will vary from player to player, as each set has been designed to complement a certain style of play. Some are geared more towards stealth, while others reward those who take risks in combat. In addition to introducing an additional layer of depth to the game’s already fantastic combat system, finding all of the non-DLC armor sets will reward players with the For All Occasions Trophy.

Updated November 27, 2025, by Tom Bowen: In addition to a New Game Plus mode, Update 1.100.000 added two new Ghost of Yotei armor sets, bringing the total number up to 15. This guide has been updated to include Oyuki’s Armor and Ina’s Armor, as well as more detailed information about the passive skills for all of the other Ghost of Yotei armor sets.

Onryo Armor

The infamous armor of the vengeful ghost hunting the Yotei Six.

Killing an enemy with a Spirit Attack or a thrown Melee weapon has a moderate chance of Terrifying Nearby enemies.

The wolf has a major chance to appear when enemies are Terrified.

Terrified enemies take increased damage by a massive amount.

How to Get the Onryo Armor in Ghost of Yotei

The Onryo Armor is Atsu’s default armor set and will be available from the start of Chapter 1. Unlike other Ghost of Yotei armor sets, the Onryo Armor is upgraded automatically as players make their way through the main story.

Dragonfly Armor

Daijiro’s armor, before forgoing the name of Lord Furuya. A note reads: “May your arrows fly with the speed of a dragonfly.”

Fully drawing your bow creates a brief timed glint. Firing an arrow during the glint empowers your shot, majorly increasing its damage and range.

Firing an empowered Arrow grants a moderate amount of Concentration.

Increase Arrow reload speed by a major amount.

How to Get the Dragonfly Armor in Ghost of Yotei

Players will get the Dragonfly Armor as a reward for completing the Dragonfly Armor Tale, which can be triggered by speaking with Daijiro near the river to the south of the Ohara Plains area of the Yotei Grasslands.

Bounty Master Armor

A hunter seeks challenge. A killer seeks precision. A bounty is won.

Perfect Parry and Perfect Dodge are increased by a major amount, but regular Parries are disabled

A Perfect Parry enables 3 additional counterattacks.

All Spirit Gains are increased by a massive amount.

How to Get the Bounty Master Armor in Ghost of Yotei

Players will get the Bounty Master Armor as a reward for completing the Soma the Condemned Bounty, which can be triggered by speaking with Kojiro after completing four bounties in the Yotei Grasslands.

Robes for Sitturaynu

Made by huci to help a lost hunter find their way.

Fireflies and controller vibrations guide you to Altars of Reflection and Ainu Items when you are within a 100m distance.

Golden birds can lead to Shamisen Songs, Sumi-e Painting locations, Pillars of the Fallen, and Dye Merchants.

Flowers have a major chance to be automatically collected when riding through white flower trails or stealthing through tall grass.

How to Get the Robes for Sitturaynu in Ghost of Yotei

Players will get the Robes for Sitturaynu as a reward for completing The Heart of an Ainu, which they can trigger by speaking with Huci after their arrival in the Nayoro Wilds. Unlike most of the other armor sets in Ghost of Yotei, the Robes for Sitturaynu cannot be upgraded by Ginji, with players instead needing to find Ainu Items and take them to Kaeka.

Taro’s Armor

An armor for the resilient survivor. Assembled by Taro from the fallen of Ezo.

All spirit gains increased by a moderate amount when graced with a cooking bonus.

Maximum Health increased by a moderate amount.

Fire and Cold damage reduced by a major amount.

How to Get Taro’s Armor in Ghost of Yotei

Players will get Taro’s Armor from Taro, who can be encountered at various locations throughout Ezo, including the Dead Man’s Tree in Tokachi Range.

Armor of the Undying

A curse passed on, an armor that stays death. Choose the right weapon, recover what is lost.

If weapon aligned, Staggering enemies restores a major amount of Health.

If weapon aligned, the window to perform Perfect parry and Perfect Dodge is increased by a moderate amount.

If weapon aligned, Focus Attacks have a moderate chance to increase Stagger damage.

How to Get the Armor of the Undying in Ghost of Yotei

Players will get the Armor of the Undying as a reward for completing the Undying Samurai Mythic Tale, which can be triggered by speaking with Storyteller Ugetsu near the Nakagoya Spring area of Ishikari Plain.

Spider Lily Armor

The armor of a general, lost to grief. All enemies fall to its bloodthirsty intent.

Enemies have a moderate chance to drop throwable weapons.

Stagger damage inflicted by melee weapons increases by a moderate amount.

Staggering an enemy has a moderate chance of dealing moderate Stagger damage to nearby enemies.

How to Get the Spider Lily Armor in Ghost of Yotei

Players will get the Spider Lily Armor as a reward for completing the Spider Lily General Mythic Tale, which can be triggered by speaking with Storyteller Ugetsu near the Mysterious Gate in the Yotei Grasslands.

Crimson Kimono

A kimono stained red with blood. Imbued with a mother’s love to shroud its wearer from danger.

Chain Assassinations can be performed with Kunai (max 2 Kunai thrown).

Enemy detection is reduced by a massive amount.

Kusarigama Assassination can be unleashed from further away. The distance is increased by a minor amount.

How to Get the Crimson Kimono in Ghost of Yotei

Players will get the Crimson Kimono as a reward for completing the Crimson Kimono Mythic Tale, which can be triggered by speaking with Storyteller Ugetsu in the Abandoned Village area of Teshio Ridge.

Mercenary Attire

A versatile outfit that hides both dust and blood.

Thrown Melee weapons deal increased damage by a moderate amount and grant a moderate amount of Spirit.

Assassinating an enemy has a guaranteed chance of dropping Sake.

Drinking Sake grants a major amount of additional Spirit.

How to Get the Mercenary Attire in Ghost of Yotei

The Mercenary Attire is obtained as part of the main story during the Oni questline.

Snake Skin Armor

Once worn by the notorious Yotei Six member known as the Snake. Smells of blood, smoke, and sake.

Empty Sake jars have a chance of actually being full when picked up.

Thrown Sake jars explode on impact and create a Poisonous cloud.

The Snake Skin Armor is included with the Deluxe Edition of Ghost of Yotei. It cannot be upgraded.

The Snake Skin Armor is not required for the For All Occasions Trophy.

Ginji’s Guard Armor

A prototype crafted by Ginji, the armorer, to protect its wearer from incoming gunfire.

Increased Tanegashima reload speed by a moderate amount.

Blocking deflects incoming bullets and grants a minor amount of Spirit.

Incoming projectiles inflict less damage by a massive amount.

Nine Tail Armor

Worn by the shinobi haunting Teshio Ridge. Designed for stealth and cunning.

Quickfire weapon damage and duration of status effects inflicted on enemies are increased by a moderate amount.

Assassinating enemies has a minor chance of granting 2 Quickfire ammo.

Enemy detection speed and Assassination noises are reduced by a moderate amount.

At the cost of warmth, running and sprinting no longer create noise.

Oyuki’s Armor

Using Quickfire weapons on enemies grants a moderate amount of Spirit.

Enemies will not recognize you as a threat when you are playing the shamisen.

Players can purchase Oyuki’s Armor from Masujiro the Melodious for 15 Ghost Flowers during a New Game Plus playthrough.

Ina’s Armor

Slightly singed and smells of black powder.

Explosive Arrows and Scorch Bombs detonate after a moderate delay, attracting enemies in a moderate radius before exploding.

All explosives have a moderate increase to their blast radius.

Fire Arrows, Explosive Arrows, Scorch Bombs, and Blind Bombs drop more often.

Players can purchase Ina’s Armor from Masujiro the Melodious for 15 Ghost Flowers during a New Game Plus playthrough.
