All Mistveil Forest Cures (Ephemeral Blight)
The three Mistveil Forest Cures required for The Ephemeral Blight quest in Where Winds Meet are: Wishing Cove, Hollow Abode, and Aureate Pavilion. While the first Mistveil Forest cure is found right at the start of the mission, finding the Hollow Abode and Aureate Pavilion cures is slightly trickier.
There is no quest marker to lead players directly to these locations, and they have to rely instead on clues about the cures to find them. This guide covers the exact locations of all Mistveil Forest Cures, as well as explains how to complete the rest of the Ephemeral Blight quest. Here’s the breakdown.

How to Find All 3 Mistveil Forest Cures in Where Winds Meet
The Ephemeral Blight quest in Where Winds Meet can be triggered by venturing into Mistveil Forest east of Kaifeng City. As you head deeper in, you’ll be infected by the Dawn-to-Dusk venomous mist. The first time you succumb to this poison, a cutscene will play out where an NPC named Zhai Xu will save you and bring you to his house on the outskirts of Mistveil Forest.
- Upon waking up, pick up the jade pendant next to your bed and talk to Zhai Xu about it.
-
Use Wind Sense to search for clues in the house. Look for two books on the table. Interact with them, and you’ll be warned by Zhai Xu not to interfere.
-
Use Meridian Touch on the chime hanging in the window above the table to distract Zhai Xu.
- Claim the two books, Mistveil Forest Cures: Wishing Cove and Thousand-Wish Amendment when he steps outside.
-
Bid Zhai Xu farewell and leave the Wishing Cove.
- Once outside, open your Bag (B) and read the Thousand-Wish Amendment book (found under Quest Items).
You’ll discover that to remove the layer of fog covering Mistveil Forest, you’ll need to find three cures. The first one was the book you claimed from the Wishing Cove, while the remaining two still need to be found.
How to Find Hollow Abode Mistveil Forest Cure
The Hollow Abode Cure can be found southwest of the main Mistveil Forest, inside the Soulshade Umbrella – Post Station. This is a Skill Theft dungeon where you can unlock the Soulshade Umbrella weapon, though you do not need to complete the dungeon in order to obtain the Hollow Abode cure. Here’s what you need to do:
- Enter the post station’s main courtyard.
- Activate Wind Sense (V) to see the enemy’s line of sight and sneak up to the main house by climbing up the vines leading up to the second story.
- Enter the main building through the open window and turn right to find a staircase leading down.
- Wait for the enemy guarding the stairs to turn around, then quickly walk up to him and assassinate him using Touch of Death.
- Turn around and locate the Hollow Abode Mistveil cure on the table lit by the green candles.
This quest objective is now complete. Now, you can either venture deeper into the dungeon to claim the Soulshade Umbrella by interacting with the coffin behind you or leave the way you came.
How to Find Aureate Pavilion Mistveil Forest Cure
The Aureate Pavilion can be found north of Mistveil Forest in Where Winds Meet, east of the Teleporter. It is an Outpost that should already be marked on your map with a red icon.
- Circle around Mistveil Forest to head to the Aureate Pavilion.
- The cure is located in the main hut directly in the middle of the outpost, behind the large group of enemies standing around the fire.
- Either defeat the enemies or sneak around to enter the hut.
- Locate the Aureate Pavilion Mistveil Forest cure next to a mummified dead body lying on a table.
You do not need to complete the outpost encounter or use any Energy to claim the cure.

Lifting the Fog from Mistveil Forest in Where Winds Meet
Return to Zhai Xu in the Wishing Cove after you’ve found all three Mistveil Forest Cures, and he’ll begin concocting an antidote to the toxin. Wait two in-game days for him to complete the cure.
Head back to the Wishing Cove and look for a note on a table stating that Zhai Xu has left for the northern wasteland of the Mistveil Forest.
Follow the quest marker to find Zhai Xu and get the complete Mistveil Forest Cure. Venture deeper into the forest and stay close to the fires to shield yourself against the Dawn-to-Dusk poison.
Defeat the Aureate Pavilion guards and unblock the path ahead by destroying the Dawn-to-Dusk blooms by the entrance using Fire Arrows.
Investigate the clues around the large tree with hanging corpses and destroy the three Dawn-to-Dusk blooms. Pick up the jade pendant on the ground after defeating the sleeping puppets.
Follow the Silver Needle Sect shadow figure to find the next quest area, and progress through the dungeon until you come to a dead end.
Look for Sun Buqi’s Notes on the table with the mummified corpse.
Combine the clues in the following order:
- Sun’s Note: Dawn-to-Dusk Toxin + The cold poison is brewed here, where spirits and dreams are crushed.
- The Dawn-to-Dusk Toxin transforms humans into Sleeping Puppets + A flood and a sinkhole exposed his hidden lair.
- The Sleeping Puppet had half a pendant. + Half of a pendant with the Crane Holding Lingzhi motif.
- Disciples of all three factions became Sleeping Puppets. + Secret Lair Sleeping Puppet carries a Silver Needle medicinal gourd.
- Secret Lair Sleeping Puppet was once a Silver Needle Doctor. + Bodies found in hidden lair show signs of attempted rescue.
- A healer’s heart remains true until they die. + When the halves are back together, the relationship becomes one…
Interact with the strange Sleeping Puppet (Silver Needle Doctor) near the mummy, and he will guide you to the source of the Dawn-to-Dusk mist. Destroy the three Dawn-to-Dusk blooms in the cavern to put an end to the problem. Return to the Wishing Cove and talk to Zhai Xu again to complete the quest and receive your rewards.
