Best Locations to Train Zombies in Ashes of the Damned
Black Ops 7 Zombies debuts with perhaps the biggest launch map for COD Zombies with Ashes of the Damned, a map that requires you to drive to different areas with Ol’ Tessie (and T.E.D.D.) Within Ashes of the Damned, players can find 6 locations, and each of them has their pros and cons. With such expansive areas, it’s a good idea to see where you should be focusing your attention with the most effective and safe spots for training zombies. Below, we’ve ranked each location in Ashes of the Damned in BO7 Zombies based on what equipment they can provide, and how effective they are at being training spots.
Zarya Cosmodrome
Tight Walkways and Mantle Spots Make This Area Unfriendly
- Location: Southeast from Ashwood
- Noteable POIs: PhD Flopper, Wisp Tea
Zarya Cosmodrome is the least friendly location for players to try and farm zombies, which is ironic, considering it’s based on the cosmodrome featured in Ascension, a map known for its effective zombie training spots. Unfortunately, Zarya Cosmodrome doesn’t have the nice, wide-open spaces that players would expect, and most of the location is a linear and claustrophobic ramp from one end to the other for Ol’ Tessie to plow through. Trying to farm along these long pathways is a big mistake, as zombies are able to pour in from all sides, including from the open doors of the connecting roads. Even worse is that due to the fact that the platforms are not level, getting critical kills can be difficult, as either you or the zombies are always at an elevation. It’s advised to steer clear of Zarya Cosmodrome, unless you’re looking to acquire PhD Flopper or Wisp Tea.
Ashwood
A Cowboy Town to Upgrade Ol’ Tessie, and Not Much Else
- Location: East of Vandorn Farm or West of Blackwater Lake
- Noteable POIs: Ol’ Tessie Upgrade Station, Jugger-Nog, Double Tap, Vulture Aid
Ashwood is a very useful location, and it can almost be seen as the central hub of Ashes of the Damned. Within Ashwood, players have a way to not only upgrade Ol’ Tessie with Pack-a-Punch and other upgrade materials, but they will also be able to respawn Ol’ Tessie, or teleport to it from the garage. Ashwood also houses three very important Perks: Jugger-Nog (for more health), Double Tap (to shoot faster), and Vulture Aid (to get more loot). However, Ashwood suffers from its own design, as it’s a very vertical map, so navigation can be a bother. You mainly want to use Ashwood thanks to the clear road to get to other locations, as you can reach all landmarks directly from here via the large open gates in each direction. If you really do want to stay here and train zombies, we recommend doing so outside of Ol’ Tessie’s garage, as this is the most expansive place to run around. Trying to do so in the upper areas of town is far too small and tight, and jumping down provides near-lethal fall damage.
Janus Towers Plaza
The Spawn Area Holds Little Value in Terms of Machines, But Provides Plenty of Room
- Location: Spawn
- Noteable POIs: Der Wunderfizz, Quick Revive, Rampage Inducer
Janus Towers Plaza is where players will first start their journey in Ashes of the Damned, and it has a few things that will make it memorable. Firstly, is the building just to the back left of spawn, in which players can find T.E.D.D. to activate Ol’ Tessie, alongside the ever-useful Quick Revive. Coming here as a training spot also isn’t a bad idea, as there’s plenty of space in its three lanes that makes it effective for weaving between zombies, with few obstacles in the way. However, the troubling and disrupted surface of the ground makes elevation an issue when trying to line up headshots for critical kills, and getting too close to either of the exits might see you wake the dangers of the fog. Janus Towers Plaza isn’t a bad spawn to be, as the Rampage Inducer is right here to enhance your gameplay with faster and more aggressive rounds, and Der Wunderfizz remains present at the north wall from Round 20. However, there’s no Crafting Bench, The Arsenal Machine, or Armor Wall-Buys here, so it’s quite a bare bones location to try and survive.
Exit 115
A Diner With Decent Space and Mantling
- Location: Southwest of Ashwood
- Noteable POIs: Deadshot Daiquiri, Elemental Pop
Exit 115 is a nice and secluded landmark, which is very useful for players who like to stay on the move. It’s not the most spacious, but there’s still room to get around, and players who like to run up and down with their trains can find enough flat ground here to do so effectively for critical kills. If you’re in trouble, then there are plenty of vehicles in place for you to mantle so that you can run across the rooftops. Exit 115 is a very good place to train zombies, as it’s out of the way, and has plenty of avenues for you to cross into with little risk of danger, but there also isn’t much else here that warrants further investigation. With all that said, we enjoy Exit 115 for its flat ground with a mixture of floor and roof combat, depending on what dangers and threats are bound.
Blackwater Lake
Decently Flat Ground and Lengthy Lanes Make a Snowy Paradise
- Location: West of Janus Towers Plaza
- Noteable POIs: Melee Macchiato, Speed Cola
If you’re ready to get to work training zombies into the high rounds, then Blackwater Lake isn’t a bad place to be hitched up at. This winter cabin has decently sized lanes, meaning you can go back and forth to horde up your train and force them into a line where you can unleash hellfire from your bullets to kill them quickly. The lanes featured here might not be extremely wide, but they sure are long, which is all you need to create a line of undead so that you can pop them off one by one. Inside the cabin, it’s fairly useless unless you need The Arsenal, or to pick up Speed Cola again, but the lane is the main system of protection. There’s also an effective Jump Pad here that takes you back to spawn for Der Wunderfizz, or to Ashwood so that you can get Ol’ Tessie. The expansive lanes of Blackwater Lake are extremely useful for gathering zombies and outrunning Zursa the zombie bear, as you can keep on the move at all times without obstructive obstacles.
Vandorn Farm
Wide Farm Land for Plenty of Valuables and Training Areas
- Location: East of Janus Towers Plaza
- Noteable POIs: Stamin-Up, Death Perception, The Arsenal, Crafting Table
Vandorn Farm has its own Survival Map for a reason, and that’s because it’s a great place to start training zombies. Whether it’s late into the endgame or as your first location, Vandorn Farm has everything you need. There’s a munitions box to buy ammo, a crafting table to purchase scorestreaks and equipment, along with The Arsenal so that you can upgrade weapon rarities, and even an Armor station to increase your Tiers. Everything you need is at Vandorn Farm, and even without these things, it’s still a great place to train zombies. Vandorn Farm is one of the widest areas, meaning you have plenty of space to run circles around the zombies. Even just outside of the farm is a lengthy walkway which provides enough room to farm back and forth. The flat land throughout the farm makes it very effective for getting headshots, and the wide areas make Zursa spawns not feel so threatening when you can just run around this dangerous bear.
