Where Winds Meet is a character-focused RPG at its core, and while it may not have the traditional leveling system found in the games it draws inspiration from, the stats that your character has still play a major part in your overall power progression. There are plenty of stats in the game, though their effects aren’t immediately obvious despite being so crucial to character building.

All Where Winds Meet Character Stats
Stats in this game are divided into three categories: Combat, Career, and Exploration. Often enough, doing activities related to each of those categories will raise the stats that fall under each of them.
Combat Attributes
As one would expect, combat stats directly affect how strong you are in a fight. These mostly affect your DPS and survivability, and outside of combat, they don’t really do much else. Naturally, you’ll want to improve your combat stats as much as possible so you can keep up with hard bosses and other high-level content in the game.

An Abrasion hit deals damage based on your Min Attack, while an Affinity hit deals damage based on your Max Attack. Affinity hits can critically hit based on your Precision Rate, but this does not apply to Abrasion hits.
Primary Combat stats (Body, Defense, Power, Agility, and Momentum) are increased simply by leveling up. The rest are improved by equipping and upgrading equipment or unlocking new Melodies of Peace nodes.
Career Stats
Career Stats deal directly with your character’s profession, which is either Scholar or Healer, and they directly affect how well you perform when interacting with your profession’s respective minigame.

For the most part, players only need to worry about these stats as they’re the most important. Advanced career stats affect each of the individual paths or styles under each profession, such as the Healer’s Muscle Diagnosis or the Scholar’s Rant Tolerance. Either way, career stats are increased by practicing professions through side quests and minigames, including the healing minigame and Gift of Gab.
Exploration Stats
Unlike the previous two stat categories, Exploration stats don’t give any practical benefits per-point. Instead, you need to reach a minimum stat value in order to unlock Exploration Skills. These provide quality-of-life improvements, such as increased bow draw speed, reduces stamina consumption, and even a treasure chest detector feature for your map.
Exploration stats are earned by completing activities scattered throughout the open world. Note that this is different from earning Exploration Points.
