How to Get Special & Elite Zombie Kills in COD Black Ops 7
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Zombies takes players to the heart of the Dark Aether with the Requiem Crew and a new version of the original crew as they embark on a quest to claim back the missing fragments of their souls taken at the beginning of Ashes of the Damned. With a bunch of maps spanning the game’s six-season run and a ton of Easter Egg Quests to complete, this year is definitely a good one for Zombies fans.
Along your journey through Black Ops 7 Zombies, you will encounter a bunch of different enemy types. However, for camo grinders and challenge completionists, Elite and Special Zombies will likely be the ones you are most interested in taking on, as they are required to unlock a bunch of different camos and Calling Cards. Here is every Special and Elite Zombie you can encounter in Black Ops 7 Zombies.
How to Change & Disable Pack-a-Punch Camos in Black Ops 7 Zombies
Did you know that you can change and remove your Pack-a-Punch Camo in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Zombies? Here is how.
All Elite Zombies in Black Ops 7 Zombies
Zursa
- Found in: Ashes of the Damned (Including Ashes of the Damned POIs in Survival)
- Ammo Mod Weakness: Napalm Burst
Zursa is the first Elite Zombie that players can encounter, and appears exclusively in Ashes of the Damned. You’ll naturally run into Zursa from round 16 onwards, and he also shows up during the boss fight, but he can be spawned earlier through the Skulls step of the Main Easter Egg Quest at Zaya Cosmodrome. Zursa is weak to Napalm Burst, so make sure at least one of your weapons is running it.
To take down Zursa quickly, focus your fire on his glowing weak points to burst them, then keep shooting those same spots afterward to dish out critical damage. Keep your distance to avoid his chain of swipes, and when he sends out a swarm of Zombees, take them down fast before they get too close. Another great counter is the Psych Grenade, which will turn Zursa friendly for a brief moment before dealing a chunk of damage once the effect ends.
Uber Klaus
- Found in: Ashes of the Damned (Necrofluid Gauntlet Quest)
- Ammo Mod Weakness: Napalm Burst & Cryo Freeze
The Uber Klaus is an Elite Zombie that appears in Ashes of the Damned, but only once during a specific step of the Main Quest, most notably the quest to get the Necrofluid Gauntlet. He can be encountered after reaching round 8 and opening the Ashwood Sheriff’s Office, where Klaus is located. From there, head back to Janus Towers Plaza and move toward the western corner of the POI. Uber Klaus will spawn once you approach the area.
Uber Klaus is weak to Napalm Burst and Cryo Freeze. To defeat him, begin by focusing fire on the two glowing weak points on his shoulders and destroy them to break his shield. After that, concentrate fire on his exposed core to finish him off. Maintain distance to avoid both his close-range and ranged melee attacks, and stay mobile when he pauses to fire a three-shot AOE projectile barrage. Watch for his boost-jump ability as well, which allows him to rocket toward your last position to close the gap.

Uber Klaus Core
- Found in: Ashes of the Damned (Necrofluid Gauntlet Quest)
- Ammo Mod Weakness: Napalm Burst & Cryo Freeze
While Uber Klaus himself is an Elite Enemy, the core that ejects from his main mech body upon defeat actually counts as a Special Enemy. The Uber Klaus Core has the same weaknesses as Uber Klaus since they are essentially the same enemy, and it’s much easier to deal with. Fire at the torso of the enemy to take it out quickly, and stay mobile to avoid its AOE projectile attacks.
Doppelghast
- Found in: Cursed Mode (Relic Trials) & Vandorn Farm Survival
- Ammo Mod Weakness: Light Mend
Doppelghasts are yet another Special Enemy that players may be familiar with, but might not actually realize are in the game. Currently, Doppelghasts can only be encountered in Cursed Mode as part of the Relic Trials, but can also spawn on Vandorn Farm Survival and Cursed Mode at rounds 40 and up. Doppelghasts are weak to Light Mend, which does not actually come to Black Ops 7 until the Season One update.
To take out Doppelghasts, be sure to focus fire on both of their heads for critical damage. Also, stay mobile, as they are quick and constantly chasing. Once they get close enough, they may opt for purely melee attacks or a ranged attack that can slow you down. Upon defeat, Doppelghasts also have one last trick up their sleeves, as they will explode and dish out the same slowing effect if you are too close.
Shock Mimic
- Found in: Cursed Mode (Relic Trials or when the Lawyer’s Pen Relic is active)
- Ammo Mod Weakness: Brain Rot
The Shock Mimic from Black Ops 6 is also in Black Ops 7, but only for those playing Cursed. The Shock Mimic is a Special Zombie and can be encountered in the Relic Trials, most notably the Lawyer’s Pen Relic Trial, along with also spawning in Cursed Mode if players have the Lawyer’s Pen Relic active in any map they play upon unlocking it.
Shock Mimics are weak to Brain Rot, with their critical spot falling in their glowing mouth. To kill them quickly, focus fire on their mouth. Keep your distance, too, as they have a ranged attack that will pull you in close for a quick hit before throwing you backwards for even more damage.
