You Have Until December 3 to Buy One of the Best Xbox 360 Games for Less Than $2
Xbox 360 classic Dragon Age: Origins is currently available for just $1.49 on Microsoft’s digital storefront. The recently launched discount, available until December 3, brings one of the highest-rated Xbox 360 games to a historically low price.
Dragon Age: Origins launched to overwhelmingly positive reviews in November 2009, winning multiple GOTY accolades and widespread fan acclaim. While it marked the beginning of one of BioWare’s longest-running franchises, many fans still regard it as the series’ best entry, citing its writing, impactful choices, and the Dragon Age: Origins class system among its standout features. By most meaningful metrics, the 2009 title is considered as one of the best Xbox 360 RPGs ever made.

Dragon Age: Origins Drops to Historically Low Price on Xbox Store
The Xbox 360 version of Dragon Age: Origins received a 90% discount on November 19, matching its all-time low price of $1.49. The promotion runs through December 3 and is part of a broader sale that includes deep discounts on other Dragon Age games as well. While the Xbox Store version of Dragon Age: Origins has gone on sale more than once per quarter in recent years, 90% discounts remain rare. The last time the game dropped to $1.49 was more than a year ago, during a two-week period that began in mid-July 2024.
All Deals from Current Dragon Age Series Xbox Store Sale
Xbox 360 can no longer be used to purchase games, but games bought via newer consoles or Xbox.com can still be downloaded to it.
While the Microsoft Store version of Dragon Age: Origins is technically an Xbox 360 title, it can no longer be purchased directly from the seventh-generation console. The Xbox 360 Marketplace officially shut down in July 2024, prompting the game’s previous 90% discount. Although users who already own the game can still download it to their Xbox 360, new purchases must be made through newer systems. However, it is still possible to buy Dragon Age: Origins via platforms like the web version of Microsoft’s storefront and then download it to an Xbox 360.
One caveat with the ongoing sale is that it only applies to the base game. Dragon Age: Origins DLC packs—which include several lengthy expansions such as Awakening—need to be purchased separately. The same limitation applies to Dragon Age 2, which can currently be picked up for $1.99, courtesy of an identical 90% discount.
Conversely, both the Deluxe and GOTY Editions of Dragon Age: Inquisition have been discounted as part of the ongoing sale. All editions of Dragon Age: The Veilguard are currently discounted as well. The Veilguard‘s premium version does not include any new story content, but the GOTY Edition of Inquisition does.
