Roads are one of the most important things to build in Anno 117: Pax Romana. It’s required to transport goods and connect buildings, and congested routes can even delay some production processes. For that, it’s important to upgrade the roads in Anno 117: Pax Romana to hasten the activities in your city.
How To Increase City Status In Anno 117 Pax Romana
City Status in Anno 117: Pax Romana can unlock new features for the player’s city, but most importantly affect the city’s attribute.
How To Upgrade Roads In Anno 117 Pax Romana
To upgrade roads in Anno 117: Pax Romana, the first thing players need to do is conduct the correct research. The earliest upgrade is the Paved Roads, which can be researched after you collect at least 50 Concrete in your warehouse. This discovery is located in the Economic tree.
Paved Roads increase the speed of goods transport and extend the reach of buildings.
The next road upgrade is the Marble Roads. To unlock it, you must store at least 5 Marble. Like Paved Roads, it increases the speed of transport for goods and extends the reach of buildings, but it also gives a small amount of Prestige. This discovery is available from the Civic tree.
After unlocking the research and obtaining the necessary materials, players can build over the old roads to upgrade them.
The materials will be refunded if you replace the road, so don’t worry about removing Paved Roads for Marble Roads in the future.
How To Make Concrete For Paved Roads
To make Concrete, players must first unlock the Eques population tier in Anno 117: Pax Romana. Next, build a Limestone Quarry in one of the mountain slots.
Next, collect Sand on the coast.
Finally, build the Concrete Mixer to mix the materials to produce Concrete.
The best set-up for this is one Limestone Quarry, two Sand Refineries, and three Concrete Mixers. Both the Limestone Quarry and Sand Refinery require the Plebeian workforce, but the Concrete Mixer requires the Eques to run it.
How To Make Marble For Marble Roads
Continue growing your Eques population, and soon, you’ll have access to Marbles. Find an island with Marble fertility, then build a Marble Quarry there.
Next, construct a Marble Mason to process the Uncut Marble into Marble. Like with Concrete, the mine requires Plebeians, while the masonry must be handled by the Eques.
