Many secrets await to be discovered by those who roam around in Pokemon FireRed & LeafGreen,and the Soothe Bell is one of the most well-hidden items in the game. The process to find it starts with locating and acquiring the Itemfinder, then defeating the Team Rocket in Celadon and returning to Lavender Town, where another adventure awaits.

The Soothe Bell’s location is directly related to one of the most important quests in the game: The rescue of Mr. Fuji in the Pokemon Tower. This guide will explain how to obtain the Soothe Bell after rescuing Mr. Fuji from Team Rocket in Pokemon FR/LG.

To find the Soothe Bell in Pokemon FireRed & Leaf Green, players must have acquired the Itemfinder beforehand, which is located east of Vermilion City in the Gate Building that leads to the Sleeping Snorlax. Inside this building, there’s a Prof. Oak’s Assistant who will give players the Itemfinder if they have caught or evolved 30 different species of Pokemon.

After obtaining the Itemfinder, players need to travel to the Pokemon Tower, and, if they have already completed Mr. Fuji’s liberation and acquired the Poke Flute they’ll be able to return to the top floor of the tower, where they need to stand in a specific spot and use the Item Finder to acquire the Soothe Bell.

Equipping the Soothe Bell to a Pokemon will boost the rate at which a Pokémon’s friendship (happiness) increases by 50%. This is most of the time used for Friendship evolutions (like Golbat to Crobat). But there’s another important use that trainers can give it.

The move Return TM 27 is located in the gate building of Route 12, which is south of Lavender Town, and this particular move gains more power the more friendship a Pokemon has, so acquiring it and teaching it to a Pokemon with the Soothe Bell Equipped will maximize its damage in no time.
