By newsgame

To beat Guillotina in Mewgenics, you’ll need to pick higher-level retired cats for the fight, equip them with poisonous and bleed-inflicting gear, dodge her smash attacks while attacking within range, and use the grass as much as possible for lower claw slashes.

Before anything else, you must be aware of Guillotina’s combat style to deal with her efficiently in the arena. She has two fight phases that happen in the same run. Here’s a quick overview of each:

  • First Phase: Her health sits between 400 and 201, and she either jumps on a tile after a regular walk hurting units and critters midway and those she lands on, picks up a nearby playable character and throws it onto a random tile, or inhales a cat and spits it out 3 to 6 tiles away.
  • Second Phase: As soon as her health drops to 50% (that’s 200), she turns from a chilling giant into an angry monster. Not only does she heal 49 hit points, bringing her health to 249 and clear all debuffs, but her regular attacks also hit harder. She can now swallow inhaled units and even devour them completely to gain 25 HP.

  • Lock in retired cats with three to six levels for massive one-shot damage. You can obtain these advanced units by taking two to three cats on an adventure and wrapping up the journey as soon as you upgrade your unit to a desired level, or use a Neverstone to prevent stray cats that join you from advancing, so only your chosen units are leveled up.
  • Make sure some of your retired felines can spawn extra creatures (also called familiars), since they’ll aid during the fight to hit Guillotina alongside your controlled turns. You can choose the Necromancer class for leech spawns or place trinkets like Botfly Larva or Whistle for fly, flea, or maggot spawns.
  • Try to pick passive abilities and trinkets that can inflict Poison and Bleed effects on Guillotina, as these can cause her to die even if she has sufficient hp remaining.
  • Last but not the least, stand on the tall grass for a 50% dodge chance… Her arena will have plenty of smaller patches too, so just use water element effects to turn them into taller grass tiles and reap the benefit of dodging attacks.

If Guillotina does not show up, chances are you haven’t yet completed The Boneyard map. Her fight’s seven-day timer will automatically appear after you clear it for the first time and see her cutscene. If you’re unsure how to reach Boneyard, you can check our detailed guide covering all acts and areas in Mewgenics for an easy reference. After you see the timer, you’re then pushed to take on this fight instead of your regular adventure at the in-game week’s end.
