ARC Raiders Players Want This Feature to Get a Massive Buff

By newsgame

The ARC Raiders community is calling for developer Embark Studios to buff key rooms, as players are calling the feature a disappointment, stating that it is often not worth the risk heading into high-tier zones for lackluster loot. Since its release late last year, ARC Raiders has continued to release a steady stream of new content updates, but many are eager to see further balance adjustments made not only to the game’s weapons but to numerous other features too, including the loot that is found in key rooms.

Embark recently released the highly anticipated Shrouded Sky update for ARC Raiders, which once again added tons of new content to the extraction shooter. A deadly new Hurricane Map Condition forces players to approach their raids cautiously, while two new ARC enemies, the Comet and Firefly, have made heading Topside even more frightening. The update also saw the addition of a new Raider Deck and tons of general improvements and balance adjustments. Unfortunately, not all of these changes were welcomed by the community, as various items, including the Wolfpack and Deadline, were made far more expensive to craft.

How Marathon and ARC Raiders Approach the Extraction Shooter Genre Differently

Marathon and ARC Raiders may both be extraction shooters on the surface, but these games approach the genre incredibly differently.

ARC Raiders Players Want Embark to Buff Key Rooms

With fans blasting ARC Raiders‘ recent nerfs and balance adjustments as unnecessary, the community is now calling for Embark to make a meaningful change and buff key rooms. For those who might be unaware, players have the chance to come across keys while looting, which grant access to various locked locations on all of the game’s maps. As these keys can often be tricky to come by, you would expect the rewards to be worth the hassle, but that’s not the case. A recent Reddit post with nearly 5,000 upvotes and hundreds of comments has now called for key rooms to receive a buff. “The loot [is] subpar and not worth the risk,” the poster says, before questioning what the point is in bringing in a key, traveling to a specific location, and getting the exact same loot from other regular locations. “Can we PLEASE see a buff to these rooms in the future?” they begged.

Plenty of other players seem to agree, with some suggesting that the drop rate of keys could be reduced and the loot found in these rooms buffed. One even suggested that gaining access to a key room should always reward players with a blueprint. Others even used the opportunity to highlight numerous other parts of the game that also need the same treatment. “Baron Husks and Supply Drops also could drop some better loot considering the risk,” one user said. Another also floated the idea of a key ring item, which could be used to store multiple keys at once without them taking up numerous slots in a player’s stash.

Embark has plenty of plans for the future of ARC Raiders, so there’s a strong chance that further balance adjustments will be made in the coming weeks and months. One thing we do know for sure is that a nerf to ARC Raiders‘ controversial IL Toro Shotgun is in the pipeline. The weapon has been dominating close-quarter PvP interactions for months now, and the devs say they are aware of the issue. Embark also addressed the backlash to recent nerfs, which included the Wolfpack, Deadline, and many more. The studio said the additional crafting materials required to make these items were added in an effort to bring the ratio of cost vs effectiveness more in line with the trend of other items.

Fans can expect the next major content update to arrive later this month, as ARC Raiders‘ 2026 roadmap outlined four major updates for the first half of the year. The first two, known as Headwinds and Shrouded Sky, went live in January and February, respectively. Now the studio is gearing up to release Flashpoint at some point this month, which will once again add a new ARC threat, a new Map Condition, an update to Scrappy, and more. Players can then look forward to Riven Tides in April, which will see the addition of a brand-new map and a new large ARC enemy, similar to the Queen and Matriarch.
