Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake Could Be Coming Sooner Than You Think

According to a new report from Insider Gaming, the long-rumored Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake could be releasing in March 2026. Rumors surrounding an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake first surfaced in June 2023, when Kotaku claimed that Ubisoft had just greenlit a remake to the beloved 2013 title. In January 2024, Insider Gaming reported that the Black Flag remake had been in production since September 2023.

In October 2024, Insider Gaming claimed that the Assassin’s Creed Shadows delay had moved the entire pipeline of in-development Assassin’s Creed projects back, allegedly pushing the Black Flag remake from its original November 2025 release. There’s still no official confirmation from Ubisoft that an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake exists, but the leaks haven’t stopped in over two years.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake Could Release in March 2026

On November 21, 2025, Insider Gaming’s Grant Taylor-Hill released an exclusive report claiming that the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake is scheduled to release the week of March 23, 2026. This information has come to light following Ubisoft’s November 2025 earnings report, which was initially delayed at the end of last week. A screenshot of this recent earnings report shows a total of seven games Ubisoft plans to release by the end of the fiscal year, which is March 31, 2026.

The graphic shows recently released titles like Anno 117: Pax Romana and Assassin’s Creed Mirage‘s Valley of Memory DLC, along with upcoming projects like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora‘s From the Ashes expansion and the long-awaited The Division Resurgence. At the end of the graphic, a blank square can be seen with a text caption inside that reads “Unannounced title.” Insider Gaming believes that this unannounced project is the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake.

If an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake is real and is indeed slated for a March 2026 release, then an official announcement is likely imminent. It’s very possible that fans could see an official reveal of the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake during the 2025 Game Awards on December 11, though that’s purely speculation at this point.

While it would be great to finally see an Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake after all these years of rumors and leaks, that’s just the tip of the iceberg for in-development Assassin‘s Creed projects. Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe, Invictus, and Jade are all presumably still in development at Ubisoft, and most haven’t been seen in any official capacity since their original reveals back in September 2022.
