Critically-Acclaimed PS5 Console Exclusive Shadow Dropped on Xbox

Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake is available now on Xbox consoles via the Microsoft Store. The critically-acclaimed survival horror remake debuted as a PlayStation 5 console exclusive when it launched back in October 2024, but as of today, it’s available on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

Silent Hill 2 remake was first rumored to appear on Xbox Series X/S last month, when the game’s official website was updated and fans spotted two blank text boxes alongside the PS5 and PC platform logos on the website’s banner. Then, on November 3, an ESRB rating for Silent Hill 2 remake on Xbox was spotted. Just five days later, Silent Hill 2 briefly appeared on the Microsoft Store with a November 21, 2025 release date, before quickly being taken down.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Is Available Now On Xbox Series X/S

It seems the Microsoft Store leak from earlier this month was true, as Silent Hill 2 remake came to Xbox Series X/S earlier today. Interestingly, Silent Hill 2 remake has made its Xbox debut with an impressive 50% discount, dropping its price from $69.99 to $34.99 for its standard edition. A deluxe edition of Silent Hill 2 is also available on Xbox, also coming with a 50% discount. This deluxe edition currently costs $39.99 and features a digital artbook, digital soundtrack, and an in-game Pyramid Head pizza box cosmetic for player-character James Sunderland.

Silent Hill 2 remake’s official Xbox store listing confirms that the game is an Xbox Play Anywhere title, meaning that users who purchase Silent Hill 2 on Xbox also have access to it on PC and vice versa. Silent Hill 2 remake also has the “Optimized for handheld” tag on its store page, likely meaning that the game is guaranteed to run well on the ROG Xbox Ally X.

Despite initial press previews being a tad lukewarm, Silent Hill 2 remake was met with critical acclaim when it released in October 2024. On OpenCritic, Silent Hill 2 is sitting at an 87 Top Critic Average, with 94% of critics recommending the game. Silent Hill 2 has also enjoyed a strong reception from fans, with it currently holding a 90 Player Rating on OpenCritic. Against all odds, Silent Hill f managed to reach the high bar set by Bloober Team’s remake the year prior, with it earning an 86 Top Critic Average.
