2025 Open-World Game Could Be Coming to Xbox Game Pass Soon

By newsgame

Xbox Game Pass may be expanding its catalog by adding one of 2025’s biggest RPG games to the service. Xbox Game Pass first launched all the way back in 2017, providing players the chance to play many of the biggest games through a subscription-based service. This plan served such a high level of success that Xbox Live Gold was ultimately replaced by the Game Pass Core subscription in 2023, providing online play and access to select games. In the present day, Xbox Game Pass is now an established way to play many of the new releases, with the Cloud Gaming feature leaving many to have their entire gaming library through the service.

One particular genre that never seems to lack representation through the service is RPG games, with almost the entire Fallout and Elder Scrolls franchises being available. With the genre’s almost innate ability to allow players to sink hundreds of hours into the games, RPGs serve as a way for gamers to get their money’s worth. This idea has also worked in execution, with RPGs such as Oblivion Remastered debuting as the most-played game on the service. Now that Microsoft is reportedly looking to expand Xbox Game Pass, perhaps adding one of 2025’s biggest RPG titles could be the first step.

High on Life 2 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance hit Xbox Game Pass

Big Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Update Just Added 2 Major Games, Including a Day 1 Release

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate expands its library with two new major games, including an anticipated day-one FPS and a celebrated action-RPG.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Rumored for Xbox Game Pass

Xbox’s official Twitter account has hinted at Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 being the next title added to Game Pass, providing a (presumably satirical) email detailing the service’s plans for the future. The caption highlights the word delivered in the email being spelled “deliverance’d,” and a caption reading “that’s a weird way to spell delivered.” Many fans have taken this to mean that the acclaimed 2025 RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is arriving on Xbox Game Pass, made all the more likely after a big Xbox Game Pass Ultimate update added the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance a week ago. Fans have also noted that creating this humorous email and spending the time to tease something as small as the spelling would be very unlikely if there wasn’t at least some form of game being added.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 would certainly be a huge addition to Xbox Game Pass. The title was acclaimed for the extreme sense of realism, with Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2‘s game testers thinking the stealth system was bugged because it felt too real. Among the many RPG games already available on Game Pass, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will likely be a hit if Xbox’s teasing is to be believed, thanks to the many mechanics and design choices setting it apart from a typical RPG. It’s more than likely that this huge RPG will be exclusive to Game Pass Ultimate, thanks to the caliber of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The first title of the series, which was recently added to Game Pass, is available through the Premium and Ultimate tiers, leaving the bigger and better sequel likely exclusive to the highest tier only.

Whether or not the title Xbox is hinting at joining Game Pass is Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is not certain, but with the wording of their Twitter post and its predecessor being recently added to the service, it looks hopeful. A realistic RPG game such as this one is so different from the magical RPGs available on the service, and would likely bring in a wider range of players to the service. With Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 topping the Steam sales charts before it even released, the game is clearly popular, and Xbox Game Pass would likely hugely benefit from it being added to its service. With Xbox’s teaser on Twitter, fans are hopeful that they may see this scenario sooner rather than later.
