Resident Evil Requiem Physical Copies Are Already Out in the Wild
It’s just been confirmed via a reliable insider that some physical copies of Resident Evil Requiem have been spotted out in the wild, and that some people have already got their hands on the full game. These copies have hit store shelves over a week before Resident Evil Requiem‘s February 27 release date.
Resident Evil Requiem was first teased by Capcom during its July 2024 showcase, and was then officially revealed in full during Summer Game Fest 2025. Since its debut, Resident Evil Requiem has appeared in multiple gaming showcases such as The Game Awards, the February Nintendo Partner Showcase, and the most recent Sony State of Play. But despite being shown so many times, there’s still a great deal of secrecy surrounding Resident Evil Requiem‘s plot, with most of the game’s marketing focusing on the same two locations, allegedly from early on in the game’s runtime.
Resident Evil Requiem’s New Neck Speaker Will Literally Make Your Skin Crawl
Capcom and Panasonic have teamed up to create an immersive neck speaker for Resident Evil Requiem that can literally make your skin crawl.
PSA: Resident Evil Requiem Copies Are Already Out in the Wild
According to recent reports, some fans may already be unraveling Resident Evil Requiem‘s mystery for themselves. On the morning of February 17, rumors started circulating that physical copies of RE Requiem had already reached some stores and that a handful of customers had already purchased the game. The leaker Dusk Golem soon confirmed this via an X post, saying that they could “personally verify there is at least one person out there who bought Resident Evil Requiem from a store selling early.” Dusk Golem’s post included a link to images showing someone holding a steelbook version of the game. While Dusk Golem said that they hadn’t seen any spoilers online yet, fans should brace themselves, as more copies are likely to be purchased early in the coming days.
Dusk Golem has been considered a very reliable inside source in the Resident Evil community for quite some time now, being one of the first to leak key details about Resident Evil Requiem long before its SGF 2025 reveal. Dusk Golem was also one of the first to claim that Leon Kennedy would be a co-protagonist of the upcoming survival horror sequel, and continued to double down on that claim in spite of Capcom’s initial statements that he would not be the game’s main protagonist.
How To Avoid Resident Evil Requiem Spoilers
Since their initial warning post on X, Dusk Golem has created a follow-up post attempting to help fans who wish to avoid Resident Evil Requiem spoilers in the run-up to its February 27 release date. They state that YouTube is often “one of the worst offenders” for spoilers, so those looking to go into RE Requiem blind should try to avoid the platform altogether or only visit the site via Incognito Mode in their browser so as to avoid personal recommendations. Dusk Golem also suggests that fans mute keywords on any social media they use, and provides a comprehensive list of terms that fans might want to flag, such as legacy character names, monster names, and phrases such as “Death,” “Dies,” and “Dead.”
The recent Resident Evil Requiem State of Play trailer revealed that at least some of the game’s plot revolves around a mysterious virus affecting Raccoon City survivors, including legacy hero Leon Kennedy. There are a lot of high-stakes theories surrounding Leon’s fate in RE Requiem, and naturally, fans don’t want to have that fate spoiled 10 days before they can get their hands on the long-awaited sequel. Resident Evil Requiem is also acting as a sort of 30th anniversary celebration for the franchise, which paves the way for other legacy character cameos beyond Leon Kennedy, which again, fans obviously don’t want to have spoiled ahead of time.
