Every time you go on a run in Moonlighter 2, you’ll be rewarded with relics for clearing different stages. These relics can then be sold in your shop to help you purchase better gear, improvements for your shop, and character upgrades. It’s a compelling gameplay loop, but the value of each run is somewhat limited by the number of backpack slots you have. Backpack slots determine how many relics you can carry and bring back to sell from any given run. As such, many players will be wondering how to get more backpack slots in Moonlighter 2.

How to Get More Backpack Slots in Moonlighter 2
Expensive but Worthwhile Upgrades
You can increase the size of your backpack by speaking to Sliver in the hub world and purchasing them with your hard-earned gold. The first additional slot can be purchased for 4,000 Gold, with the amount increasing each time you purchase one.
Sliver can be found in the southwest corner of the hub world, called Tresna, after you’ve found him during a run. He can be one of a handful of NPCs who you can meet by heading to a ‘?’ tile on the map. You don’t need to reach the final boss in either of these for Sliver to appear in the hub world. You can either choose to return whenever you want after meeting him by using your pendant (press and hold B/Square), or you can die, take the hit on your relic quality, and choose to return to Tresna at that point.
If you’re not sure where to find Sliver, look out for the backpack icon on your minimap in the bottom right corner of the screen. A small green ‘!’ will be shown next to it to let you know that it’s a new NPC/ store that you can go and investigate before the first time you visit him. You can see the minimap icon in the screenshot below, though note Sliver is just off to the right of the NPCs in the image.
Increasing your backpack size in Moonlighter 2 is just one of a handful of upgrades you can purchase after picking up your starting weapon by speaking to NPCs. You can also increase your max health, get more potions, and get new furniture for your shop.
It’s worth noting that there is set to be another row of backpack slots that can be purchased, but the upgrade material required to advance any further than where I’ve currently reached isn’t available in this current version of the game’s early access. It’s expected that the material will be added into the game at a later stage of the early access period, or at the very latest, in the full release of the game.
