ARC Raiders May Have Just Teased Its First Animal-Themed Skin
ARC Raiders developer Embark Studios has released a short trailer that appears to tease the addition of a new animal-themed cosmetic to this week’s store rotation. While there was sadly no new bundle added to ARC Raiders last week, it looks like Embark is preparing to not only release a substantial new game update on February 10, but potentially also one of the shooter’s most unique character skins to date.
Cosmetic items and skins are often a topic of debate in live-service titles. Call of Duty was recently forced to backtrack on its plans for further collaborations and unrealistic cosmetics for Black Ops 7, after fans grew tired of the series straying too far from its roots during the life cycle of Black Ops 6. This decision led competitors such as Battlefield 6 to reassure their communities that they would not follow the same path as Call of Duty, with even developer Embark Studios chiming in to promise players that any new ARC Raiders skins would remain true to the game’s aesthetic.

ARC Raiders is giving players who missed out on the first Expedition a great reason to depart on the second one, and it leaves very soon.
ARC Raiders Teases Animal-Themed Skin
It’s now been nearly four months since the launch of ARC Raiders, and Embark has remained true to its word regarding appropriate cosmetic items. While recent ARC Raiders skins have caused controversy, it’s been largely due to fans nitpicking certain design choices. However, Embark could be about to release its wildest skin to date, as a short teaser trailer on the official ARC Raiders YouTube channel has teased the addition of an animal-themed skin for this week’s store rotation. The studio didn’t release a new bundle or patch last week, but a community manager’s statement on Discord has revealed that a new game update will arrive on Tuesday, February 10.
The teaser, which shows a player cautiously looting before a pair of fox-like ears appear behind them, has players speculating that Embark may finally be adding a skin that was seen in a trailer last year. Although it hasn’t been outright confirmed by Embark that this will be for a new skin, many believe it will be something similar to Destiny‘s Wolfswood Cloak. If that’s the case, the skin likely won’t transform players into an animal, but will instead feature a wolf or fox pelt worn as a helmet.
Those not interested in the upcoming skin will be pleased to know that there is also a new ARC Raiders update planned to release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on February 10. Details on what will be included in the patch are yet to be confirmed, but it will likely include new bug fixes, general improvements, and possibly even some further weapon balancing.
A major content update is being planned for sometime this month, but an exact release date has yet to be confirmed. The Shrouded Sky patch will see the addition of a new map condition, a new ARC threat, a new player project, a new raider deck, and much more. Embark has also teased a map update for Shrouded Sky, but it’s unclear which of the game’s five maps will be adjusted with the update.

Players can also look forward to ARC Raiders‘ second Expedition later this month, with departure officially set for March 1. Those who took part in the game’s first Expedition but didn’t have enough saved up to receive all 5 Skill Points can reclaim them with the new Catch Up mechanic. Each missed Skill Point will cost 300,000, while new Skill Points have been lowered to 600,000.
