How Does Gear Artificing Work in Arknights Endfield
Gear Artificing is an endgame mechanic in Arknights Endfield designed to push your equipment to their absolute limits. Through Artificing, you’ll be able to upgrade the stats on the gear you fabricate through your factories. However, this process comes at a cost, and not all pieces of gear are worth upgrading.
If you want to start upgrading your gear in Endfield, you’ll want to know how to use the Artificing mechanic. In this guide, we’ll cover how to Artifice gear, how to unlock the feature, and a few other important things you should know about it.
How To Get Sandleaf In Arknights Endfield
Sandleaf is one of the most crucial endgame items in Arknights: Endfield.
How to Unlock Artificing in Arknights Endfield
Once you make enough progress through the Wuling story in Endfield, you’ll eventually get a side quest called Gear Artificing, which will take you to the Bureau of Swordmancers in Wuling City. From there, simply talk to the NPC there to start a tutorial on Artificing.
How to Artifice Gear in Arknights Endfield
To start, open the in-game menu, then select the Gear Assembly option. From the new menu that appears, select the Gear Artificing tab at the top of screen.
Artificing requires the following:
- Gear of the same slot and rarity as the Gear piece you want to artifice
- Regional Artificing Catalysts
From the Artificing screen, you see all the gear you have that can be artificed. As of writing, only Gold-rarity gear can be artificed. You can get the Gear Templates for Gold gear by opening Gear Template Crates around Wuling. Some are also sold through Wuling’s Stock Redistribution network.
To artifice your gear, do the following:
- Pick the piece you want to upgrade.
- Select the stat you want to upgrade.
- Choose the piece of Gear you want to sacrifice.
Once you’re done making decisions, hit the Artifice button to feed your unwanted equipment to the one you want to upgrade. This process can fail, meaning you might end up not upgrading your Gear after the Artificing attempt. If it does fail, you will build up the Artificing Progress Bar — once that bar is full, your next attempt is guaranteed to succeed.
You’ll have a higher chance to get a successful Artificing attempt if the Gear you’re sacrificing has higher stats than the one you want to upgrade. Keep in mind that you only have a limited number of Artificing attempts on each piece of Gear; if you fail too many times, that specific Gear will get locked, and you’ll have to start Artificing another piece of Gear if you want something with better stats.
Which Gear and Stats Should You Artifice?
Ideally, you should only Artifice the very best gear you have (i.e. T4 stuff). As for the stat priority, it depends on the Operator you want to build, though a good rule of thumb is to focus on increasing your Operator’s Primary Stat first. If your character’s main stat is Strength, then you should prioritize Artificing for Strength since this yields the highest increase for your ATK stat.
