By newsgame

Gestures in soulslike titles serve as a universal language, allowing players to convey appreciation or excitement during tense online encounters. In the Nioh series, this system has always been a fan favorite feature for interacting with both allies and the environment. Nioh 3 continues this tradition, offering a wide array of gestures for players to utilize as they journey through its dangerous world.

Whether you are celebrating a hard-fought victory against a boss or greeting a visitor in the world of Nioh 3, knowing how to emote is essential for any player.

How to Emote in Nioh 3

Emoting is a feature that the game introduces fairly early on. As a matter of fact, the game even gives you a small tutorial during the first section, but most players might forget it after putting a couple of hours into the game.

To emote, you have to press R1/RB on your controller along with the Options/Start button. This will display a gesture tab where you can choose the gestures you have. You can also change tabs to find more gestures. On a keyboard, press G to open the gesture tab, then press Space to lock in your pick.

When it comes to finding more gestures or actually using these during the game aside from multiplayer interactions, you will need to loot chests. There are fixed chests in the game from which a mimic can pop out and clone itself to look exactly like you.

It will then gesture in front of you, and you can fight it using any style. However, there is an alternative way of dealing with the mimic without even fighting it, and that involves performing the same gesture the mimic did.

Remember to not take a lot of time, because the mimic will run out of patience and start attacking you.

Once you either defeat or please the mimic with gestures, it will go away. You will get a bunch of loot, plus you might also get a gesture that will be added to your collection.
