2XKO New February 2026 Update Patch Notes Revealed

By newsgame

Riot Games released a new major update for 2XKO, focusing on addressing a variety of bugs and other issues impacting the game and opting to leave balance adjustments for a later patch down the road. Starting life as Project L at Riot Games, 2XKO spent a good amount of time in development, which finally came to an end on October 7, 2025, when the game launched for PC players. Through continued updates and tweaks, Season 1 saw the launch of new content as well as the game’s anticipated launch for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles.

While it appears that 2XKO has really resonated with fans of the Runeterra universe, such as League of Legends and even Netflix’s Arcane series, there are more than a few complaints from players. Namely, 2XKO follows suit with other Riot Games in that it is free to play, many of the in-game items can be a bit pricey. Fans have debated the cost of character skins and bundles in 2XKO, with many character cosmetics costing $20 or more depending on the rarity. In fact, there’s even a new Arcade Megabundle option that will run players $80 in total. Despite these high prices, 2XKO is constantly evolving, with the latest update making some important fixes.

Setting expectations, Riot’s Julian “JulezJP” Johnson confirmed that this first bug-fix patch wouldn’t be anywhere near as big as 2XKO‘s major Season 1 update, which brought about significant balance changes alongside other fixes. For this one, the team focused on addressing critical issues, even revealing some “micropatch” changes that the studio released in between this and the last major patch. Although the update isn’t making any champion changes, Johnson hinted that some of the fixes could result in a slight shift to the game’s current meta.

Along those lines, Riot Games highlighted 4 core gameplay-related changes in this patch, fixing bugs that could break the camera, using Tag Launchers to make the enemy champion invisible, and being able to bypass the Limit Strike system by using certain moves that hit off the ground. Limit Strikes are ways that players can choose to immediately end their combo by performing more than one wall or ground bounce, or tumble per champion during a single combo. Pulling this off rewards the player with extra damage, super meter, and break meter, but there was a bug that gave certain 2XKO champions like Braum a little more than what was intended.

In addition to some general fixes, such as an update to Champion Mastery progression and other error fixes, this update also adds in a few quality of life improvements when playing against other players online. Specifically, for players who idle during the character select screen until the timer expires, they’ll trigger the same penalty as they would see from leaving a match early. The game will also remember a player’s previous picks for Champions and Fuse selection, so for those who want to get to the action as fast as possible, they’ll be able to mash select to autopick their previous loadout.

Unfortunately, this update doesn’t fix 2XKO‘s current screen tearing issues on console. After the game launched on consoles back in January 2026, players noticed horizontal screen tearing, seemingly impacting displays with higher refresh rates even more. Essentially, the issue makes it seem as if the top and bottom halves of the currently displayed frame are misaligned, like one is slightly off center as if the screen has been pulled apart. Thankfully, Riot Games is aware of the issues as the specific issue was highlighted in the “Known Issues” area of the patch notes, though no timeframe for a fix was provided.

1.1.1 Hotfix Jan 26

1.1.2 Bug Fixes

Core Gameplay

  • Fixed a bug where players could bypass the Limit Strike system by using certain moves that hit OTG.
  • Fixed a bug where Tag Launchers could make the enemy champion temporarily invisible.
  • Fixed a bug where certain Supers broke the game camera.
  • Fixed a bug where exiting Training mode after leaving the game idle would cause the game to freeze.

General

  • Fixed an issue where joining a cabinet with your chat window active could cause you to lose control of your avatar.
  • Added a notice that purchases made with Credits cannot be refunded.
  • Fixed an issue where Champion Mastery progression did not update properly. (All progress was properly tracked, but it was not being properly displayed.)
  • Fixed an issue preventing duos from entering a private lobby ID when using a controller.
  • Fixed text-to-speech narrator mispronunciations across various screens and menus.

    • We hope this will deter dodging unfavorable matchups or tough opponents before the match begins.
  • The client should now remember your last selections in champion selection. If you spam enter you should autopick your last loadout.

Known Issues

  • Illaoi’s Guiding Hand Assist Tentacle fails to hit airborne opponents at low heights.
  • Illaoi’s Tentacle-generating moves only spawn 1 Tentacle when hitting both opponent champions, but should be spawning 2.
  • Screen tearing when playing on console versions of the game.
