How to Craft and Upgrade Your Gear in Arknights Endfield
Like any action-adventure game, you’ll encounter mobs and bosses in Arknights Endfield. To take them down, of course, you’ll need to equip your operators with armor sets, which in this case include Armor, Gloves, and Kits. These can enhance basic attributes and also provide other helpful buffs to your characters. So, if you’re curious about crafting and upgrading the gear sets in this Hypergryph’s RPG, here’s a quick guide to help you out.

How to Craft Gear in Arknights Endfield
To craft gear in Arknights Endfield, you’ll first need to unlock the Gear Assemble system. This feature becomes available after completing the Rally and Unite quest in Chapter One, Valley IV, and fixing the Hub Base Comms Node by placing the Originum components correctly on the circuit board.
Once done, turn on AIC a (click the Explore button at the top-left), then look for the Gear Assembly icon on the right side. Select a gear recipe from the list and click “Craft.”
At the start, you’ll only have Basic gear recipes unlocked, shown in grey/white. These pieces have lower stats and no 3-set bonus. As you increase your Authority Level and progress through later chapters, Green, Blue, Purple, and Gold rarity gear sets become available.
While you can craft any kind of gear using the aforementioned method, you’ll also need to collect gear recipes (aka gear blueprints) within each rarity tier to access stronger options. For more details, check out our dedicated gear blueprint guide here.
Each gear piece requires different materials. Gathering them, especially for high-rarity armor, involves setting up factory production chains where raw materials are gathered, refined, and processed through Gear Units to create the required ingredients. Here’s a quick look at the materials needed for each armor type in Arknights Endfield:

How to Upgrade Gear in Arknights Endfield
After you have your gear sets ready, you can further enhance them by focusing on the stats you want. This system is great because there’s no RNG involved, and it’s done through Artificing.
Artificing is introduced after you reach Chapter Two, Wuling City, and progress a bit through the main story there. To artifice your gear in Arknights Endfield, open the Gear Assembly icon, switch to the Artificing tab at the top, and upgrade the stat you want your armor to have (such as Agility, Will, or Strength).
Each upgrade costs Wuling Artificing Catalyst (obtained from Wuling Stock Distribution using its store currency) and also requires a duplicate of the gear you’re upgrading. This means you’ll need extra copies of the same rarity gear to continue enhancing it.
