How to Play Music in Heartopia
Playing instruments may not be one of Heartopia’s seven official hobbies, but it is a great way to spend some time in-game while waiting for other tasks or spending time with friends. Players can play their instruments freely, or they can use music scores to learn to play specific songs.
If you’re looking forward to playing music but still haven’t unlocked music scores, don’t worry. We’ll teach you how to unlock music scores and where you can find different instruments in this Heartopia guide.
Beginner Tips and Tricks for Heartopia
Heartopia is not a game you’re meant to rush. Here are some of the best tips and tricks to help out new players.
How to Get Music Scores in Heartopia
How to Get and Complete the New Song to Summon the Astralis Quest
To get music scores in Heartopia, you first need the Astralis in Flower Field quest. In this quest, players will receive their first instrument, a Lute, from Vernie. Receiving this instrument will unlock the Instrument and Music Score section in the Daily Life Guide.
Open up your smartwatch and select the Town Guide app. It should open with the Instrument and Music Score section in the center. If it does not, scroll to the middle section of the app to find it. Select the Instrument and Music Score section and tap the accept button in the lower right corner.
Players will immediately get a call from Ka Ching that gives them the New Song to Summon the Astralis quest. While Ka Ching will give you a list of numbers that she thinks are the music score, you don’t have to play them to complete the quest. Simply play however much or little you’d like, then continue following the quest until it leads to Annie, who will give you a set of seven music scores, including:
- Mariage d’Amour
- Wedding March
- Für Elise
- Pachelbel’s Canon
- Happy Birthday
- Edelweiss
- Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star
Make sure to return to the Daily Life Guide and mark the quest as complete to earn the Heartopian Melody score as well.
How to Use Music Scores in Heartopia
Using a music score requires players to actively interact with an instrument. Once you see the instrument’s keys on the screen, click on the icon in the shape of a piece of paper with a music note in the top right corner of the screen. This will bring you to a new screen showing all the music scores you currently own.
Each music score will have its own difficulty, number of pages, keys used, and recommended instruments. The recommended instruments of a score can be checked by clicking the small circle with a lute inside it to the right of the score’s difficulty and pages. After choosing a score, press the play music button to return to the previous screen with the music score.
The score will now appear on top of the screen. After completing a set of notes, you will need to manually press the arrow button to turn to the next page of the score.
Pay close attention to whether a score’s notes have a small circle or two above them. These circles differentiate the high notes and the low notes, which use the same numbers.
How to Get Instruments in Heartopia
Instruments can be purchased from Annie and occasionally from the Collector. There are also 3 instruments players can acquire for free:
- Players will receive a lute from Vernie in the Astralis in the Flower Field quest.
- Eric gifts players a recorder at the end of the Astralis in Onsen Mountain quest.
- A piano is the Day 3 gift for the 7-Day Sign-In Event.

In some cases, you can get instruments from one of the Gilded Acorn Exhibition’s gachas. These instruments are much more detailed than regular ones, making them a treat for music fans. However, they are undoubtedly the hardest instruments to get in the game. They are also some of the most expensive since they will require Exhibition Passes instead of gold.
