World of Warcraft Reveals New Discord Quest

By newsgame

World of Warcraft and Discord have teamed up to offer players a new cosmetic item just for having Discord open while playing the game. In short, World of Warcraft players have until February 2 to add the bakery-themed backpack to their appearance collections, which can then be used by any character on a player’s account.

The new item came amid a busy time for World of Warcraft and its users. On January 27, World of Warcraft launched the Midnight expansion’s pre-launch event, called Twilight Ascension. Although the event is only available until Midnight‘s March 2 launch, Twilight Ascension allows players to earn new weapons and armor that can be upgraded. New cosmetic rewards for World of Warcraft‘s housing enthusiasts can also be obtained during the Twilight Ascension event, along with the Retrained Skyrazor mount and some companion pets. The story of the Twilight Ascension event is also a precursor to what fans can expect during Midnight.

World of Warcraft Players Can Earn a New Item Just By Having Discord Open

Along with World of Warcraft‘s pre-expansion event, players will have another reward that they can claim just by having a popular app open on their PC. Blizzard is promoting a Discord Quest that lasts until Monday, February 2, giving players just a few days at the time of this writing to claim a new cosmetic. The prize that WoW players can obtain is the Piping Hot Portable Bakery, a backpack adorned with loaves of bread and baking utensils on the outside. Obtaining the Piping Hot Portable Bakery simply requires World of Warcraft players to accept the Discord Quest from Discord’s desktop application and leave it open while simultaneously playing World of Warcraft for at least 15 minutes. A circular bar will begin filling up in the Discord Quest menu.

Once the quest is complete on the Discord desktop app, a Battle.net Code will be sent to the user, which can then be redeemed in the Battle.net desktop app. Once the code has been successfully entered, the bread-filled backpack will then be available for World of Warcraft players to wear on any of their characters on the same account. Once earned, the item code will expire no sooner than March 4, 2026. However, the Piping Hot Portable Bakery is only available in the modern version of World of Warcraft and will not appear in any of the game’s Classic modes. Given that World of Warcraft’s reworked transmogrification system saw some price cuts due to player feedback, it should cost players a more reasonable amount of gold than before to change their cloak into a portable breadbasket. Should the portable bakery not immediately appear in players’ cosmetic collections, logging out of World of Warcraft and back in should help.

World of Warcraft’s Pre-Expansion Schedule is Packed

However, the Discord Quest is not the only thing happening in World of Warcraft in late January. Blizzard confirmed that World of Warcraft will have a State of Azeroth presentation on Thursday, January 29, starting at Noon Eastern. Similar broadcasts for Overwatch 2, Diablo 4, and Hearthstone will also be held throughout February. During the State of Azeroth, World of Warcraft senior game director Ion Hazzikostas and executive producer Holly Longdale will discuss what players will experience in Midnight and all Classic versions of WoW throughout 2026. Although Midnight’s March 2 release date has long been known, the future of World of Warcraft‘s Classic game modes remains unclear. Blizzard additionally teased that viewers could earn an exclusive Dark Portal housing item, but asked fans to tune into the show for further details. Although rumors of a “Classic+” game mode have been discussed by fans, it remains to be seen what other surprises Blizzard has in store for its player base.

Additionally, World of Warcraft is collaborating with Razer for a giveaway of some elusive in-game items. The raffle will offer winners some rare mounts, including the Iron Skyreaver and Coral-Stalker Waveray, should their names be called after the raffle concludes on Saturday, January 31. With Midnight just a few weeks away, and several events dotted on the calendar, time will tell what else World of Warcraft will do to keep fans engaged ahead of the upcoming expansion.
