How to Level Up and Promote Your Characters in Arknights Endfield
Starting as Endminstrator in Arknights Endfield, the main character who loses their memories and finds themselves on a dangerous planet under constant attack from creatures, you soon complete the main tutorial and begin the first chapter. While doing technology restoration and combat-related quests alongside other members of Endfield Industries, you quickly realize that upgrading your character is absolutely essential to progress further.
Arknights Endfield Gacha System, Explained
Here are the good and the bad things you’ll want to know about how Endfield’s gacha works.
Leveling up and using the promotion system helps increase your HP, allowing you to withstand bosses and mobs for longer, boosts your attack stats so you can deal more damage per hit, and improves attributes like Strength, Agility, Intellect, and Will, all of which are important for building your operator. Here is how you can level up and promote your operator in Arknights Endfield.
How to Level Up Your Characters in Arknights Endfield
As with other action-adventure RPGs, ranking up your character in Arknights Endfield is quite straightforward. You simply head to the Operators section by clicking the mannequin icon in the top-right corner, open the Level Up screen, and spend resources, which in this case are Combat Records.
If you cannot see the Operators icon, you will need to clear the Rally and Unite quest in Chapter 1.
Combat Records are items that grant experience and can be obtained by exploring the Talos-Il planet, clearing Protocol Space: Operator EXP rifts, or trading them at the AIC Quota Exchange. There are currently three types of Combat Records, and each one provides a different amount of experience:
|
All Combat Record Types |
EXP Gained |
|---|---|
|
Elementary Combat Record |
200 |
|
Intermediate Combat Record |
1,000 |
|
Advanced Combat Record |
10,000 |
Every character in Arknights Endfield has a maximum level of 90, but you cannot reach it all at once. The game uses a level cap system, so after hitting level 20, you need to promote your operator to raise the level cap to 40, 60, 80, and 90, then use Combat Records to continue leveling as usual.
Once you achieve level 20 on a character, you unlock the option to perform Elite Promotions from the same Level Up screen. After wrapping up your first promotion, the next one only becomes available once you have maxed out the previous level cap and finished the required Outfitting upgrades (more on that below).
There are four promotions in total that you need to complete for every operator in Arknights Endfield. Here are the details and materials required for each one:
|
All Operator Promotions |
Cost |

|---|---|---|
|
Promotion I |
8 Protodisk, 3 Pink Bolete, and 1.6k T-Creds |
Lv.40 |
|
Promotion II |
25 Protodisk, 5 Red Bolete, and 6.5k T-Creds |
Lv.60 |
|
Promotion III |
24 Protoset, 5 Ruby Bolete, and 18k T-Creds |

|

Outfitting upgrades are gear enhancements that must be done alongside character promotions. These upgrades are directly tied to progression, as each new promotion is locked behind an Outfitting upgrade, making the two systems inseparable. They mainly allow operators to equip higher-rarity gear, which gradually makes them more durable against enemy attacks.
