How to Get Salt in Hytale
Salt is a crafting ingredient for certain food recipes in Hytale that can be obtained by processing Salt Blocks. Here’s how to find it.
How to Get Poop in Hytale
Poop is a natural resource that can be obtained from animals like pigs, cows, sheep, mosshorn, horses, rams, and chickens in Hytale. Most animals poop naturally once enough time passes, while others have a chance of dropping poop when certain actions are performed on them.
For instance, horses, pigs, and rams poop naturally. All players need to do is wait for these animals to do the deed and collect the poop from the ground. So if you run into a herd of horses in the wild, for example, you are likely to find a few poop droppings nearby.
On the other hand, the process of obtaining poop from sheep, chickens, cows, and mosshorn is a bit more hands-on. For chickens and sheep, equip Crude Shears (craftable at a Farmer’s Workbench) and use it on them, and there is a chance that they will drop poop alongside wool (sheep) and white feathers (chicken).
For cows and mosshorn, if you use an Empty Wooden Bucket (also crafted at a Farmer’s Workbench), you’ll obtain a bucket of milk (cows) or mosshorn milk (mosshorn) and a chance that the animal will drop some poop.
Sheep, cows, and mosshorn also poop naturally (like horses and pigs), but chickens do not.
Best Animals for Getting Poop in Hytale
The best animals for getting poop in Hytale are chickens, baby piglets, horses, and rams. This is because all four of these animals can either be captured in a Capture Crate (chickens and baby piglets) or are rideable mounts (horses and rams).
Animals caught in a Capture Crate can be brought back to the base in your inventory, making it easy to find and capture dozens of them in a single trip, as long as you have enough crates to bring them in.
Pigs cannot be caught in a Capture Crate, but baby piglets can.
As for mounts, if you find them in the wild, you can ride them back to your base and put up a fence around them to create an enclosure. Horses and rams cannot jump over a simple 1×1 fence, meaning they’re stuck there for good if you encircle them. As an added benefit, you’ll also get a makeshift stable in your base if you go with this route.
Chickens are the overall most valuable animal to capture in Hytale, since, in addition to poop, you also get access to an infinite supply of Eggs and Cheese from chickens, both useful resources in their own right.
How to Use Poop in Hytale
Poop can be used to make a Fertilizer Bag at a Farmer’s Workbench Tier 3 in Hytale. Fertilizer is used to increase the growth rate of crops when farming by 2x, reducing the time it takes for any given crop to reach maturity.
In addition to that, poop can also be used as a throwing item by pressing right-click while having it equipped in the hotbar. It deals 5-6 damage per hit.
