How to Get Goldenwood Logs in Hytale

Only Sallow Logs and Palm Tree Logs qualify as Goldenwood Logs in Hytale. Sallow Logs can be obtained by chopping down Sallow trees, whereas Palm Tree Logs can only be acquired as loot from certain chests in the game.

Sallow Logs

Sallow trees are rare, yellow-leaved trees found in the Devastated Lands’ (Zone 4) Cinder Wastes biome in Hytale. On the map, look for a dark yellow piece of land within the black islands of the Devastated Lands. Here, search for a light-yellow treetop (like the one shown in the screenshot above). These are Sallow trees, and chopping them with a hatchet will allow you to obtain Sallow Logs, which qualify as Goldenwood and can be used to upgrade the Farmer’s Workbench to Tier 8.

World generation in Hytale is random, which means not every Devastated Lands zone has a Cinder Wastes biome inside it. If it doesn’t, you will have to keep exploring the map until you find a zone that does.

Palm Tree Logs

Palm Tree Logs can only be obtained from chests found in the Howling Sands (Zone 2) desert region in Hytale. The best locations to find chests is in enemy strongholds, underground mineshafts, and other inhabited areas found in the desert.

Notably, Palm Trees found in the wild do not yield any Palm Tree Logs when chopped down; they turn into sticks. It’s unclear whether this is a bug or an intended feature, but at the moment, the only way to find Palm Tree Logs is through chests.
