Worst Purchases in GTA Online

By newsgame

GTA Online has an abundance of things to purchase in 2026, but not all of them are worth your time and money. Over the years, some businesses and vehicles have become obsolete and have become total wastes of money that you should actively avoid.

We’ve listed the biggest wastes of money in GTA Online in 2026, so that you don’t make the same mistakes as some other players who might have purchased these items expecting something better than what they got. These purchases should be avoided due to their high price and lack of fun.

10 Most Fun Cars to Own in GTA Online (2026)

GTA Online’s best vehicles are some of the most fun, and we’ve displayed which ones you need to add to your garage now.

Arena Workshop

A Workshop for Silly Vehicles and a Barron Game Mode for $995,000

  • Purchased for: $995,000 from the Arena War website
  • Why It’s a Waste of Money: Nobody plays Arena War activities in 2026, and the vehicles are far too expensive to upgrade.

The Arena Workshop arrived with the Arena War update back in December of 2018, and it was an attempt to capitalize on the madness often featured in public lobbies with a full arena for vehicular mayhem. While the Arena War update saw some pretty fun modes, with ranks that could see unique unlocks, the mode was quickly abandoned by devs and players alike.

Purchasing an Arena Workshop in 2026 is pretty pointless, as not only will the $995,000 be wasted just for an opportunity to try out the Arena War career, which has no active players at all, but you’ll also need to fork out the money on Arena Ready vehicles that can set you back millions of dollars, and have no use outside of silly gimmicks.

Document Forgery Office

Get Scammed Into Making Hardly Any Money for as Little as $650,000

  • Purchased for: $650,000 from The Open Road (MC Clubhouse Computer)
  • Why It’s a Waste of Money: Even with upgrades, you’ll spend weeks of real-time trying to make your money back.

The Document Forgery Office is one of the many MC Businesses that you can invest in, and it should be avoided at all costs. If you have a Clubhouse, spend your money elsewhere on the best MC Businesses, and avoid the Document Forgery like the plague. The money made is not worth it at all, and with all upgrades, it will still take you 63 hours of playtime to make your money back.

Document Forgery makes no money at all, and in 2026, it’ll just waste your time. There are some effective ways to make money in GTA Online for 2026, and the Document Forgery is perhaps the worst of them. Therefore, we advise just ignoring this business altogether.

Bail Office

Try to Make Your Money Back Through Arrests After Spending A Minimum of $1,650,000

  • Purchased for: $1,650,000+ from Maze Bank Foreclosures
  • Why It’s a Waste of Money: An expensive business that requires too much of an active investment to make your money back.

The Bail Office can be purchased from Maze Bank Forclosures, with an assortment of locations ranging from $1,650,000 to $2,620,000. With a Bail Office, players can engage in some pretty fun activities where they select a target from their office and venture off through San Andreas to find and capture them (preferably alive) for profit. Sadly, the profit isn’t that great, and you’ll spend hours, if not days, hunting targets to try and make your money back.

The missions can be fun, yet repetitive, and the passive income obtained by spending $1,500,000 on Agent 1 and Agent 2 is not worth it, and will take weeks to make your money back. While some missions can pay over $100,000 or more, these can get old fast, and you’ll need to play consistently to see your money returned. However, if you’re looking for fun over smart investments, then try this one out.

Eclipse Towers Penthouse

Waste $1,100,000+ On a Penthouse That You’ll Never Use

  • Purchased for: $1,100,000+ from Dynasty 8 Real Estate
  • Why It’s a Waste of Money: An overpriced penthouse that does the exact same thing as cheaper High-End Apartments.

There was once a time when the Eclipse Towers Penthouses were for the most elite of players who managed to amass riches. However, that was back in 2013, and things have greatly changed since then. Now, the Eclipse Towers are useless, and players will have no use for these homes that will cost them money by keeping the lights on when nobody is home.

The Eclipse Towers can be used for the original Heists, but that’s still not a good thing, since other and cheaper High-End Apartments can do the same thing. Even the 10-vehicle garage is useless, as again, other High-End Apartments can do it. If you’re looking for a nice home with benefits, consider the mansions, which offer a Master Control Terminal for businesses and the ability to boost production by 1 business every 24 hours.

Super Yacht

Lose Your Money in Aquatic Style From Only $6,000,000

  • Purchased for: $6,000,000+ from DockTease
  • Why It’s a Waste of Money: A home on the sea with no added benefits or money-making opportunities.

Players can make many places their home in GTA Online, but none are quite as expensive and useless as the Super Yacht. There was a time when the Super Yacht was a symbol of wealth, but that time has passed. The Super Yacht serves no purpose in being so expensive, outside of being a commodity, as you won’t make your money back with it. In fact, all it will do is rack up your total bills as you’ll have a giant ship to pay for, along with its staff and captain.

Piracy Prevention is a fun event to take part in for public lobbies, but even then, it’s not worth the $6,000,000, and that’s without any of the upgrades that might set you back way past $8 million. The Super Yacht is purely for flexing money, and it’s not going to help you make any money through additional business ventures, so maybe skip this one.

Orbital Cannon

Obliterate Other Players for $500,000 Each

Orbital Cannon

  • Purchased for: $900,000 with the Facility from Maze Bank Forclosures
  • Why It’s a Waste of Money: Requires $500-750,000 for a single-use explosion against 1 player with a 48-minute cooldown.

The Orbital Cannon can be obtained for $900,000 to anyone who owns a Facility. While the Facility is a fine addition simply for the money you’ll make during your first run of The Doomsday Heists Acts 1 through 3, the Orbital Cannon is a complete waste, as it’s just used to troll other players for a mighty cost.

While it is hilarious to blow up another unsuspecting player from the safety of your Facility, it’s perhaps the most expensive joke and way to grief someone in GTA Online. An automatic shot costs $750,000, and a manual shot costs $500,000. There’s also a 48-minute cooldown between shots. The worst part isn’t even the price of each shot, but the fact that if a player enters an interior, the shot will be completely wasted.

Brickade 6×6

Buy an Acid Lab for $750,000 Instead of Earning One For Free

Brickade 6x6

  • Purchased for: $750,000 from Warstock Cache & Carry
  • Why It’s a Waste of Money: You can get one for free during Dax’s First Dose and Last Dose missions, along with over $1,000,000 in profit for completing them.

The Brickade 6×6 is a vehicle from Warstock Cache and Carry that costs $750,000, and it’s the foundation for the Acid Lab. While the Acid Lab is one of the best businesses in GTA Online, purchasing a Brickade 6×6 is entirely pointless, since you can get one for free by completing the First Dose and Last Dose missions for Dax and the Fooligans, which are started in Sandy Shores.

Buying the Brickade 6×6 is a complete waste of money, since you’ll need to pay to set up the Acid Lab and then upgrade it later down the line, which means that you’ll be set back over $1,750,000 just to make a profit of $320,000 every 4 hours. Definitely get the Acid Lab for your business ventures, but only with the free one from Dax’s missions, and not the one you can purchase from Warstock.

Beginner Tips for the Best Start in GTA Online (2026)

This beginner’s guide to GTA Online will ensure you don’t get overwhelmed with the bounty of activities now available in 2026 and beyond.

P-996 Lazer

Battle Through the Skies with a Classic Jet for $6,500,000

P-996 Lazer

  • Purchased for: $6,500,000 from Warstock Cache & Carry
  • Why It’s a Waste of Money: An absurdly expensive fighter jet that’s obsolete compared to more modern VTOL models

The P-996 Lazer is the first fighter jet available in GTA Online, and has been stolen from Fort Zancudo for over a decade. It’s fast, decent at firing thanks to its cannons and lock-on missiles, but is it worth a whopping $6,500,000? Definitely not. This vehicle requires a Hangar, which is an additional expense, and you can even obtain a Hangar in Fort Zancudo, which negates the wanted level, allowing you to steal one from the military without wasting millions.

Not only is the P-996 Lazer absurdly expensive, but it’s not even the best fighter jet. The Raiju and Hydra options are here to steal the spotlight from the P-996 Lazer, and they are far cheaper than this fighter jet that doesn’t even have a VTOL mode to help it land. Therefore, we can’t recommend anyone spend the money on this vehicle unless they love it for nostalgia.

Kraken Avisa

A Painfully Slow and Expensive Submarine Can Be Yours For $1,545,000

Kraken Avisa

  • Purchased for: $1,545,000 from Kotsaka in Warstock Cache & Carry
  • Why It’s a Waste of Money: A submersible vehicle that’s more expensive and slower than the Kraken, with no function for any missions.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to take a break from the Oppressor Mk II-controlled skies of Los Santos by desiring to dive deep into the oceans of San Andreas. In fact, there’s even quite a selection of things to explore under the sea. However, this time-consuming underwater trip isn’t worth the Kotsaka’s asking price of $1,545,000 for the Moon Pool Vehicle needed.

This money is better used on the Sparrow for the Kotsaka’s involvement in the Cayo Perico Heist, and the Kraken Avisa is a complete waste of money. Not only is it slower than the default Kraken, which is free for returning players on DockTease, but it’s also far slower and more expensive. The Cayo Perico Heist, which requires the Kotsaka, has no underwater missions where the Kraken Visa is needed, so you’d be wasting almost $2,000,00 for nothing.

Luxor Deluxe

An Outdated and Obsolete Private Jet Can Be Yours for $10,000,000

Luxor Deluxe

  • Purchased for: $10,000,000 from Elitas Travel
  • Why It’s a Waste of Money: A slow private jet with no defensive or offensive abilities that can be found in LSIA without the gold paint.

The most expensive vehicle in GTA Online is the Luxor Deluxe, which can be purchased from Elitas Travel for a whopping $10,000,000. If you’re wondering if you get anything for spending $10 million, you can rest assured knowing that you get absolutely nothing at all, other than a gold reskin of a vehicle that’s always found at the Los Santos International Airport.

If you have $10,000,000 in GTA Online, the last thing that you should spend it on is the Luxor Deluxe. Even if you have billions, it’s still an absurd waste of money that you definitely should not spend. You gain nothing from this slow-moving and defenseless plane, other than the luxury of gloating about your money before someone blows you up with an Oppressor Mk II.
