Use the nearby Whisper to teleport to the Orban Glades, then head north past the pond. There’s a cave entrance there — hug the left side, and you’ll find yourself in a ruins of sorts that has been converted into a bandit camp. Fight your way to the bottom to find a Whisper.

You can explore the camp for loot, or you head to the burning entryway just west of the Whisper to fight Darak. He’s not too hard of a boss to beat — just be careful and time your dodges well, and you’ll take him down. Once you do beat him, he’ll retreat, and you’ll have no choice but to go back to Sacrament and report what happened to Winnick.

You’ll find Winnick near the Gallows, talking to Odessa. Speak with both of them, to progress the quest.

Free Rattigan

Your next job is to find the key to free Rattigan, one of Darak’s men who has been captured by the guards. You’ll find the keys to his cage on a guard who has passed out near the town’s fountain, which is just below the Gallows. Follow the stairs down to the lower levels of Sacrament, then head north to find the guard near the fountain. Snatch the key from him, then return to Rattigan. Once you give him the keys, he’ll tell you to go to the sewer drain in the Shallows. Fast travel to the Saltborn Tower, then head east to find it.

Rattigan will open the way to the Black Trench, Isola Sacra’s massive sewer system. This is a level 15 area, so if you don’t want to have a hard time fighting the enemies here, come back when you’re a bit stronger. We recommend doing bounties for Captain Randolph or doing the Servant of God quest first.

To start the Black Trench, unlock the Whisper by following the path to the left. Then, follow the stairs downward and go to the location marked in the image above. There, you’ll find the Drainage Cellars Key that opens a door leading to the rest of the dungeon. Go back to the way you came from, and hug the left wall. Use the key you found to open the door there.

You will now be able to reach the ledges that lead further up the room. Keep going west, and you’ll find a path that leads to another lever. Pull that, and you’ll unlock the bridge near the entrance to the Drainage Cells.

There’s a door at the other side of the bridge, but to open it, you’ll first need to get the Water Channel Key. Follow the path left, and go up the stairs to find a big monster guarding the key. Either fight the monster, or just snatch the key, then head back to the locked door.

Upon entering the Water Channel, you’ll be greeted by some worms attacking a bandit. Take them out, and you’ll find another lever device at the other end of the room guarded by archers. This lever controls the elevator in the image above — pull the lever, then run to the elevator before it lifts itself up. Then, follow the path forward, take out the archers, then pull another lever at the other side of the room. This will drain the sewer tunnel near the lever at the bottom. Go through that tunnel to proceed.

You’ll then enter an even larger chamber full of enemies. Clear the monsters out first, then follow the elevated ledge to the north to find another Whisper.

Now, head back to the middle of the chamber, then explore the bottom-left side. This will lead you to the upper level of the chamber that leads to the Sewer Lever Handle Key and another lever device that leads back to the middle of the chamber.

To your right, you’ll see a lever device that controls a nearby elevator. Use the Sewer Lever Handle Key to activate it, then run to the elevator before it can leave you behind. Then, follow the path forward; in the circular area with the rat and Torn Human blocking the way, there’s a lever at the other side. Pull that to flood the entire chamber.
