Where to Find Hardwood in Hytale

By newsgame

Hardwood Planks are needed to create better items in Hytale and if players want to create the ultimate base and make better use of the Furniture Workbench, they need to get lots of this resource. But where to get Hardwood to craft Hardwood Planks?

This guide will explain players where to find the wood needed to craft Hardwood Planks, as well as the many ways they can use them to create cool and useful items in Hytale.

How To Craft Hardwood Planks in Hytale

The first step to craft Hardwood Planks in Hytale is to find Oak or Ash Trees. To obtain Ash Logs, players need to look for trees with thick reddish-brown trunks and deep-green leaves, which they can cut down to collect Ash Logs. Oak Trees have their trunks made of dark chocolate wood and their leaves are yellowish-orange, and by cutting them down, players will get Oak Logs.

Now, to craft Hardwood Planks, players need to take Oak Logs or Ash Logs to the Builder’s Workbench and deposit a stack of this material on the slot. This will enable the crafting recipes for Hardwood Planks, as well as Decorative and Ornate versions (for structure building).

Craft Hardwood in the Builder's Workbench

The next step is to use those Hardwood Planks to create items. For that, players need to build a Furniture Workbench at the Workbench using any stone and tree trunk (they will need 6 of each).

Here’s all you can build (from scratch, without counting late-game unlocks) using Hardwood Planks in Hytale (Items marked with a * are directly crafted using Ash Logs or Oak Logs in the Builder’s Workbench):

  • Wooden Wall (Various Patterns and Colors): Hardwood Plank + Clay (mix different petals with clay to get colored clay).
  • Tankard (and other decorations): Hardwood Plank + Iron Ingot
  • Small Iron Chest (Large Iron Chest): Hardwood Plank + Iron Ingot
  • Lumberjack Bed: Hardwood Plank + Plant Fiber + Heavy Hide + White Cloth
  • Lumberjack Lamp: Hardwood Plank + Candle + Iron Ingot

How to Get Iron Ingots in Hytale

Iron Ore is a core part of the early game progression in Hytale. Here’s how to find it and smelt it to get Iron Ingots.

Arguably, the most useful items created using Hardwood are the Small Iron Chests (which are more resilient than regular chests) since players will need lots of storage to drop their hard earned loot. The rest of the items might be more useful for those aiming to be extremely creative with their bases.

Still, hardwood has a lovely visual and can be used to give your base a nice homely touch, something that cannot be done using regular wood logs. Plus, players can use them to create patterned Wooden Walls with Colored Clay, which looks awesome. That way, when playing Hytale with friends, everyone can have their home decorated to their own tastes.

Remember: The Furniture Workbench needs to be placed in the same room and with the same flooring as the Chest Containing the Materials for them to count.
