However, if you want to get involved in the potential of FiveM, you’ll first need to know how to install it. Below, we’ve got the easy-to-follow installation process for FiveM in GTA 5 on PC, through Steam, Epic Games, and the Rockstar Launcher.
Grand Theft Auto 5: Enhanced is not currently supported by FiveM, so you will need to install FiveM on Grand Theft Auto 5: Legacy Edition. Make sure you’ve installed and played GTA 5 Legacy so that FiveM can find the .exe file.
How to Install FiveM on Steam (GTA 5 Legacy)
- In your Steam Library, Right-Click Grand Theft Auto V Legacy
- Select “Manage”, then “Browse Local Files.”
- Locate GTA5.exe (It will just be called GTA5)
- Right-Click the taskbar at the top of the Folder
- Select “Copy Address.”
- Access FiveM.net and download the client: FiveM.exe
- Scroll through the Terms of Service and select “Sure, I Agree!”
- Open FiveM.exe within your Downloads Folder
- Locate your GTA5 Legacy.exe by right-clicking the taskbar in the window pop-up, and entering “Paste” from when you selected “Copy Address” earlier
- Select GTA5.exe and hit “Open.”
- FiveM will need to update the local game data, so simply hit “Yes.”
- Sign in to Rockstar Games, then on the Terms of Service, click “I Accept”
- When asked to link your account to Cfx.re, hit “Skip and don’t ask again” (A Cfx.re account just means you can upvote and review servers)
- Click “Play” to browse the servers and select the one you want!

- In your Epic Games Launcher application, select your Library and filter to “Installed.”
- Find Grand Theft Auto V and select the 3 dots
- Select “Manage” and then click the folder icon by “Installation.”

- Right-Click the taskbar at the top of the Folder
- Select “Copy Address.”
- Access FiveM.net and download the client: FiveM.exe
