Helldivers 2 Reveals New Warbond for January 20

Helldivers 2 reveals the Redacted Regiment Warbond, adding a spec ops set of weapons, armor, and gear for players to dig into later this month. 2025 was a very busy year for Helldivers 2, as the popular game experienced many highs and lows with its community including the launch on the Xbox platform, while also suffering from deepening technical issues towards the end of the year. Thankfully, the game appears to be back on track and ready for another strong year.

In fact, after solving some frustrating technical issues, including allowing players to shrink the game’s file size, Helldivers 2 ended 2025 with a special holiday event. Known as the Festival of Reckoning, this year’s version of the event lasted much longer than the previous edition and allowed players to use new limited-time stratagems and other experimental tech alongside special Major Orders. Some of the new Stratagems were so popular that fans were even requesting that some be made permanent additions to the game. While fans are yet to see that come to fruition, the first of 2026’s Premium Warbonds has finally been revealed.

A Helldivers 2 developer confirms that Arrowhead plans to expand on one of the game’s most popular gameplay elements in a future update.

Helldivers 2 Redacted Regiment Premium Warbond Details

The latest Premium Warbond for Helldivers 2 takes on a stealthier and more covert theme. Redacted Regiment will be on sale starting January 20 and comes with a variety of new gear including two armor sets, two primary weapons, and a ton more. The R-72 Censor is described as a mid-range precision rifle with a suppressor attached, allowing for stealthier kills. Alternatively, players can instead use the fully automatic AR-59 Suppressor assault rifle, which also comes with a “non-removable” suppressor. Finally, there’s a dart-firing secondary pistol that releases chemicals that make enemies “delirious” and likely to turn on their own allies for a short time.

Two new stratagems are also available, including the B/MD C4 Pack stratagem. This backpack gives players 6 C4 charges that can be set as well as a wireless detonator that can be detonated individually or simultaneously with other players for some truly destructive explosions. Alternatively, there’s the TM-01 Lure Mine, a throwable mine that not only sticks to surfaces, but attracts enemies using lights and sounds to draw them in. When close enough, the mine explodes to finish the job, adding another deadly tool to the extensive list of Helldivers 2 Stratagems.

Following in the footsteps of other Helldivers 2 Warbonds, Redacted Regiment includes two new armor sets to let players better personalize their character. Following the special operations theme of this Warbond, players can equip the RS-89 Shadow Paragon light armor or the RS–67 Null Cipher medium armor. Both sets feature the Reduced Signature passive that reduces noise level and the range at which enemies can detect the wearer.

Finally, the Warbond features the Pillar of the Abyss and Triangulation Veil capes, along with matching player cards. There’s the Target Sighted victory pose, a [Redacted] player title, and the Concealed Insertion booster, which equips the hellpod with a smokescreen that triggers on impact.

As for what’s next, Arrowhead Games Studios hasn’t revealed anything concrete. Over on the game’s Discord channel, Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Shams Jorjani teased that the developers would like to put together a 2026 Helldivers 2 content and feature roadmap, though finding a way to not spoil specific story beats could be a bit tricky. When asked about future updates, Jorjani left fans with the phrase, “a lot of Helldivers will die.” Without anything else to go on, many assumed this meant the game would see new enemies and threats join the game in the future, though with the reveal of this newest Warbond, Arrowhead will also be giving players a slew of new tools to help deal with them.
