Heartopia Beginner Tips and Tricks
Heartopia is a cozy, relaxing life simulation game that invites you into a magical town where creativity, comfort, and connection come first. Heartopia isn’t about combat or grinding; it’s about enjoying everyday moments. You can decorate your dream home, farm crops, fish by the lake, or hang out with friends, all at your own pace.
If you’re just starting out and feeling a little overwhelmed by everything the game has to offer, this guide will walk you through the most important tips and strategies to help you enjoy Heartopia at your own pace.
How to Change Your Hair in Heartopia
Unhappy or tired of your initial hairstyle in Heartopia? Here’s how to change it.
Claim All Launch Rewards
The first thing you should do as a new player is grab all your launch rewards. If you pre-registered, make sure you claim them as soon as you log in. These rewards include 400 Moonlight Crystals, 60 Exhibition Passes, 20 Wishing Stars, and 4,000 Gold. All of these currencies are super useful for customization and progression.
During the first week of launch, daily login rewards are also available, including a white sedan vehicle that lets you drive freely around the map.
There are also sign-in rewards that include Moonlight Crystals, Wishing Stars, repair kits, and furniture dyes. Even weekend logins give 50 Moonlight Crystals, so checking in consistently really pays off.
Make the Most of Seasonal Updates and Events
Heartopia runs on a seasonal system, and each season brings unique content, fashion, festivals, and rewards. The first season is Winter Frost Season, starting on January 24th.
During this season, some creatures can get frostborn infections, which means you can find rare seasonal bugs, fish, and other collectibles. You can earn seasonal rewards like ornaments, gift eggs, and trophies. Plus, there will be a bunch of special seasonal activities and limited items.
Focus on Your Development Guild (DG) Level
Your Development Guild (DG) level is one of the most important progression systems in Heartopia. You can increase it by completing resident requests from NPC neighbors around town. These requests can include taking photos, collecting materials, catching fish, or even delivering items.
As your DG level increases, you unlock new hobbies and abilities, new furniture and decorations, new story content, and new systems. If you’re ever unsure about what to do next, completing resident requests is always a safe and productive choice.
Use Transportation to Save Time
While walking is peaceful, it can feel really slow. Thankfully, Heartopia gives you free transportation early on. You can use a scooter to move around quickly. If you claimed the launch rewards, you’ll also have a white sedan to use.
Using vehicles helps you save time when completing quests, visiting shops, or traveling across regions.
Make sure that you are checking the shops regularly. There is a clothing store and a furniture store in town. Even if you don’t buy anything, it’s smart to browse daily so you’re aware of what’s available.
Interact With NPCs Frequently
Progression in Heartopia heavily depends on how actively you interact with the world and its residents. NPCs can help you gather resources, unlock items, and earn additional currency. Some NPCs run shops where you can trade items or purchase useful resources. Others, like Bob, can provide furniture to help you build and upgrade your cottage or mansion.
Certain NPCs also let you invest in their shops, which improves your home area and unlocks more rewards over time. All in all, it’s a good habit to regularly talk to NPCs and check what they can offer.
Co-Build With Friends Without Losing Your Home
Co-Build is one of Heartopia’s best multiplayer features. If you enjoy building with friends or struggle with construction on your own, you can team up easily.
The best part is that you don’t need to delete your main house. You can actually save multiple blueprints of different houses and different builds. You can have your main house and a separate blueprint for co-op and switch back and forth by selecting the blueprint and placing it on your plot. This lets you experiment freely without fear of ruining your main home design.
Adopt Pets and Interact With Wild Animals
You can adopt multiple pets of the same type, and each one has unique traits and personalities. Always check their traits before choosing, as some suit certain play styles better. You can also crossbreed different pets to come up with new coat patterns.
You can also find wild animals spread across different regions of the map. To raise your relationship level with animals, you need to feed them their favorite foods. At higher relationship levels, animals will unlock special actions and adorable interactions.
Make Lots of Money
Farming is the most consistent and beginner-friendly way to earn gold in Heartopia, especially in the early stages of the game. Unlike many other systems, farming is simple and low-maintenance. Crops do not require fertilizer, which means you can focus entirely on planting and harvesting without worrying about extra resources.
While crops do have watering timers, keeping up with them is easy and becomes part of your daily routine. As you continue growing the same crops, their quality gradually improves, increasing both their selling price and usefulness in recipes. It’s really one of the best long-term money-making methods in Heartopia.
Express Yourself Through Fashion
Heartopia comes with a lot of daily outfit combinations. Clothing is a major form of self-expression, and not all outfits cost premium currency. You can unlock outfits through shops, events, quests, and banners.
Since appearance ties into social interaction, fashion becomes part of how you connect with others in the world. Make sure to check outfits regularly and save currencies for styles you truly love.
Complete All Main Quests, Daily Tasks, and Weekly Missions
Heartopia is built around relaxing activities and everyday hobbies. You can try on different outfits, explore hobbies, unlock furniture, and customize your home freely. However, most of these features require Contribution Badges, which are an important progression currency in the game.
The simplest way to earn Contribution Badges is by completing main quests, daily tasks, and weekly missions. The more Contribution Badges you collect, the more outfits, furniture, and upgrades you can unlock. To progress faster, you should try to complete a mix of all three task types regularly.
