An Iconic Black Ops 4 Map Could Be Coming to Black Ops 7
A Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 player has uncovered evidence that suggests Gridlock, an iconic multiplayer map from 2018’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, is set to return. Developer Treyarch Studios has already shipped Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 with multiple remastered maps and confirmed that even more are on the way with the game’s big Season 1 update. However, it appears that yet-to-be-confirmed remasters are now being discovered in-game.
With Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 being a direct sequel to Black Ops 2, Treyarch is treating fans to a wide variety of remastered maps from the 2012 classic, both at launch and as part of the shooter’s seasonal content updates. Fans can already jump into Express, Hijacked, and Raid right now, and there won’t be long to go until even more classic maps make their way to the game. Although the release date for Season 1 has yet to be confirmed, Treyarch has revealed that Nuketown will come to Black Ops 7 as part of a free update on November 20.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s Campaign Absolutely Clears Battlefield 6’s
While Battlefield 6 definitely put up a good fight, Black Ops 7 reigns supreme when it comes to this one specific feature.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Player Discovers Gridlock From Black Ops 4
Treyarch has already said it intends to “bring it” when it comes to post-launch content for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, so it will likely come as no surprise that another iconic remaster has now been discovered. YouTuber Replay Mode recently went out of bounds on Express to scout out the surrounding area, only to stumble upon a completed version of Gridlock, a popular multiplayer map from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The map hasn’t been seen since 2018, but it looks like it may finally be returning in a future Black Ops 7 update.
The return of Gridlock has yet to be confirmed by Treyarch, but the studio has revealed that Black Ops 7 Season 1 will be bringing back Standoff and Meltdown, two maps from Black Ops 2. While Standoff was also remastered for Black Ops Cold War, Meltdown hasn’t been seen in a mainline Call of Duty game since its debut in 2012. The full roadmap for the shooter’s first season has yet to be revealed, which means even more maps may also be included in the major content update.
Fans of Black Ops 4 will be pleased to know that the beloved Blackout will also return to Warzone in 2026. Prior to Warzone becoming one of the biggest Battle Royale titles in gaming, Black Ops 4 had a crack at the mode with Blackout. While support for the mode ended once 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot hit the scene, Raven Software is bringing it back next year as part of a big Warzone update. Details are still scarce, but the studio says it is bringing a “bold new experience” in the Spring of 2026, inspired by the original Blackout.
