How to Fight Kulemak in Path of Exile 2

By newsgame

Kulemak is one of the many endgame bosses players can fight in Path of Exile 2, but unlike the ones that spawn in regular maps, you’ll need to get an invitation before you can fight this one. The aptly-named Kulemak’s Invitation is a rare drop in PoE 2, and while players can try their luck and get one for free, there’s also the more expensive option of purchasing one off the market. If you’d rather not spend any of your precious currency by doing the latter, here’s what you can do to get an invitation for yourself.

In Path of Exile, Mushrooms are used to complete a hidden quest in Act 3 which rewards a choice of Flask.

You can potentially get a Kulemak’s Invitation by finding and beating either Tasgul or Vandroth, Abyssal boss enemies that can be found in the Lightless Void or Dark Domain maps. Both of these bosses will always drop a Kulemak’s Invitation when defeated, but actually finding them can be quite tricky.

You have a chance to find the entrance to either the Lightless Void or Dark Domain in any Abyssal Depths map you enter, but they’ll only start appearing once you’ve reached level 79 or above. Before you open a map, make sure to use an Abyss Precursor Tablet to increase the odds of getting Abyss encounters, and don’t forget to setup your Atlas skills too.

Once you do find one of these areas, fight the boss inside, and you should get a Kulemak’s Invitation to drop. Alternatively, you can check the PoE 2 currency exchange market by speaking to Ange and just buy one from there. Prices tend to fluctuate, so it’s best to see for yourself.

Once you get an invitation, head over to the Well of Souls in Act 2. Stand by the edge of the cliff, and a new option should now be available to you. Interact with that new button, and you’ll find yourself in the Black Cathedral. In front of you will be a gate that asks you to present Kulemak’s Invitation. Interact with that, and head inside.

Pass through the gate, and you’ll find yourself in an arena. Kulemak will be hovering over a cauldron of sorts. He’ll enter that cauldron and come out as the Vessel of Kulemak, which is a respawning pinnacle boss. Defeating the vessel will drop the Grip of Kulemak Unique ring, but the encounter doesn’t end there.

If you select the Take the Finger option, you’ll end the encounter and take home the ring as-is. Alternatively, you can interact with one of the abyss lords sitting on their thrones to fight the Vessel of Kulemak again. Every time you beat the boss, a Desecrated modifier will appear on the Grip of Kulemak.

Beat the Vessel of Kulemak enough times, and you’ll soon get an option to either take or return the finger. If you choose to return the finger, you’ll fight the boss one final time, but this time, he’ll be at full strength. Make sure to bring the best build you have so you don’t get instantly deleted. After this final round, the Grip of Kulemak will drop alongside a shower of other rewards.
