Before arriving at the strange town, he has a device called the Prototype, which can disperse dangerous particles in the air. Later on in the town, this device proves to be more useful than its original design, as it can also remove Miasma in the area. Here’s how to load and use the Prototype in Pathologic 3.

The Bachelor can use the clock to see the past and alter events in Pathologic 3, but there are things to do first.
How To Load The Prototype In Pathologic 3
To load the prototype in Pathologic 3, you must first get three ingredients: a Stimulant, an Anesthetic, and a Toxin. One load of the Prototype is good for 20 usages.
This is enough to traverse a large area, but only if you’re careful about how to use it and don’t panic when navigating hazardous zones.
In the tutorial where Daniil is still in the capital, the materials are ready inside the nearby beige cabinet.
After collecting the items, hover over the Prototype loader on the table, and interact with it.
In the conversation with Platon, he mentioned that you should load the Prototype on the table, which hints at how to reload the Prototype later in the game.
Choose a Stimulant, an Anesthetic, and a Toxin, then press Load. The mix will refill the Prototype’s charges, ready for 20 uses through the morgue.
How To Reload The Prototype In Pathologic 3
To reload the Prototype in Pathologic 3, you must first go to the guest house in the Stillwater.
Inside, the Bachelor can find his various research instruments, including the Prototype loader. Like in the tutorial, you must interact with the device, then insert a Stimulant, an Anesthetic, and a Toxin.
However, these ingredients aren’t readily available as they are in the tutorial. For the first reload, you can loot the nearby box to get the materials.
How To Use The Prototype In Pathologic 3
To use the Prototype in Pathologic 3, you need to twist the handle until the end.
While investigating the device, Daniil mentioned that the longer you hold the crank, the stronger the effect will be.
This will use one of the 20 charges the Prototype has. Do not turn the device again until it’s necessary. The limited charge means that you must be careful about how often you use it, as you may end up getting stuck in a dangerous area if you run out of charge.
Instead, keep traveling until the area around the Bachelor is filled with dreadful black smoke. Smoke on the floor indicates that you need to crank the lever soon, but it’s not yet necessary. Instead, wait until the smoke is above and all over your screen.
