How to Get Mega Sceptile in Pokemon Legends Z-A DLC (Sceptilite)
Mega Sceptile is one of the most sought-after Mega Evolutions in the series. Sceptile changes its type from Grass to Grass/Dragon, and that by itself adds competitive value to this powerful Pokemon. But that’s not all: it’s BST climbs from 530 to 625, raising its Atk, Sp. Atk, Speed, and Defense. So, all in all, it’s one of the highly anticipated returning Megas that has come with Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC.
If players want to know how to get their hands on this beast of a Pokemon, they have come to the right place. This guide will explain the step-by-step process to obtain Mega Sceptile and, of course, the Mega Stone Sceptilite required to mega evolve it.
How To Get Sceptilite in Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC
The process to obtain the Sceptilite Mega Stone and evolve Sceptile into Mega Sceptile is actually quite simple. Players must own the Mega Dimension DLC (as
Sceptileis one of the Pokemon unlocked with this DLC), and have an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
Then, players need to participate in Ranked Battles with their Pokemon during Season 5, which runs from Wednesday, January 7. 2026 to Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
To start playing ranked battles, players must follow these steps:
- Launch Pokemon Legends Z-A, and open the main menu (X)
- Navigate the menu and select ‘Link Play’
- Select Ranked Battles to join the queue
Players must reach at least Rank S during this season, with rankings starting from Z and climbing all the way up to A. That means players just need to raise their rankings 7 times to unlock Mega Sceptile.
With all the changes in the meta, players must think this is hardly doable. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth: Reaching S-Rank in Ranked Pokemon Legends Z-A Battles is super easy. More so if players have some of the best Pokemon for PVP prepared for combat.
Besides the obvious ranking increase and the Sceptilite as the main attraction of this Ranked Season, players can also earn tons of interesting rewards like Bottle Caps, Special Balls, Battle Items, Nuggets, and Seeds of Mastery. All of these come as part of the Battle Rewards independently of the Rank Raise. Even for participating in Ranked Battles, players are already eligible to earn any of these.
Eligible Pokemon for Ranked Battles Season 5 are those included in Lumiose Pokedex No. 001–227 and Hyperspace Pokedex No. 001–127, 131, and 132. You can register Pokemon from Lv. 1 to Lv. 100, but all Pokemon will automatically be set to Lv. 50 during battles. No more than one Pokemon with the same Pokedex number may be used. Remember to always use Pokemon that you have raised yourself, to avoid the risk of being banned. Pokemon from unknown origins might be duped or genned, and Nintendo Online’s auto-ban system is merciless regardless of intentions. Play safe, raise your own Pokemon.
