New & Upcoming Xbox Series Games For 2026
2026’s Xbox video game calendar is starting to take shape, and it should be a pretty great year for the console. Microsoft’s brand garnered quite a bit of criticism throughout 2025, but the Xbox Series X/S has never stopped receiving fantastic games, even if none of them are exclusive to the system. 2026 will not be an exception, with each month bringing forth dozens of new releases across a spectrum of genres.
As keeping up with everything can be tiring, let’s simplify the process and go through the big upcoming Xbox games that should define 2026. Hopefully, it will be a memorable year for all the right reasons.
Please note that the focus is on the North American release dates of Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One games. Expansions will also be listed. That said, this lineup is not exhaustive, as the focus is on major games.

- January 30: Front Mission 3: Remake
January is getting 2026 off to a pretty decent start, although the releases are tracked into the second half of the month. The biggest new game coming to the Xbox Series X is 2XKO, Riot’s fighter that will be free to play. Tag-team combat is the main focus, and the LoL developer knows a thing or two about creating a live-service project that can be straight-up life-consuming.
If you are primarily into single-player games, January 2026’s Xbox Series lineup has a few things for you. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is finally landing on Microsoft’s console, years after being available on PS5 and PC. Code Vein II should be a decent Soulslike, and it might be great if it improves upon its predecessor’s foundation.
Upcoming Role-Playing Games People Are Excited For
While plenty of RPGs have been announced for 2026 and beyond, these upcoming role-playing games are especially exciting.

- February 26: No Sleep for Kaname Date – From AI: The Somnium Files
- February 27: Resident Evil Requiem
- February 27: Tales of Berseria Remastered
On paper, February 2026 is almost frustratingly packed with games. How can we possibly keep up with all the major releases? Xbox Series users won’t have to wait long for things to get started, as Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined launches on the fifth of the month. Roughly a week later, Romeo Is a Dead Man will arrive to hopefully satisfy people’s cravings for hack and slash goodness, and it will be quickly followed by Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, Reanimal, and High on Life 2. All these games look fantastic.
The second half of the month has Resident Evil Requiem, which is (obviously) February 2026’s biggest new Xbox game. It has been years since the last completely new chapter in Capcom’s series, and Requiem cannot come soon enough.
March 2026 Upcoming Xbox Series Games
Fatal Frame, Monster Hunter Stories, Crimson Desert, & More
Continuing the momentum from its predecessor, March 2026 has all the Xbox games. You can get Fatal Frame 2 if you are still yearning for more nightmares, although you can also pick up John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando if you just want to shoot hordes of zombies. Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection should be a rock-solid creature collection JRPG, and Crimson Desert could be the month’s most ambitious title. Finally, Mouse: PI For Hire looks incredible.
The Biggest Upcoming Zombie Games
New zombie games are always on the horizon, and 2026 will not be an exception, as a few major titles have already been announced.
April 2026 Upcoming Xbox Series Games
Pragmata, Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, & More
- April 16: Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss
- April 23: Kingdom’s Return: Time-Eating Fruit and the Ancient Monster
- April 24: Pragmata
- April 28: Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred
- April 30: Invincible VS
Currently, April 2026 does not have too many confirmed games, but it already has a couple of juggernauts. Pragmata looks primed and ready to be one of Capcom’s weirdest projects, and that is certainly a compliment. The unorthodox combat should rock, just because Capcom knows what it is doing. Invincible VS should be a bloody superhero fighting game, while Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred is the RPG’s next expansion.
