Fortnite’s Entire Update Schedule for 2026 Has Been Revealed

By newsgame

Epic Games has updated the Fortnite roadmap Trello page with the entire release schedule for 2026, letting players know when they can expect content patches and season launches. Fortnite has entered its seventh chapter and 35th full season, and Epic Games tends to change major aspects of the game whenever there is a new chapter, as these releases are much bigger compared to season launches. However, Chapter 7 Season 1, also known as Pacific Break, took it up a notch, as main elements were completely modified, such as how players land on the island and how Battle Pass pages are unlocked and redeemed.

Some players aren’t too happy about these changes, but it’s good to see Epic continuing to innovate and try new things to keep Fortnite fresh. In November, Fortnite had a spike in new and returning players with the launch of the Simpsons crossover season. Updates always pull in players that are curious to see what’s new, but the major island and loot pool changes that occur when there’s a season or chapter change take it up a notch, as the spike tends to be much more noticeable.

Updates are usually released every two weeks, but there are some breaks in the schedule, namely in mid-June. Between June 19 and July 15, there will be no updates, which indicate when Epic Games employees will be off on summer break. Additionally, players expect Chapter 7 Season 2 to take place between March 5 and April 29. Last year, there was a Star Wars update around this time for May the Fourth. The update on April 30 would most likely include content for the annual Star Wars event in Fortnite and perhaps another themed season, as fans always seem to enjoy these crossovers. Gamers are still hopeful that Epic Games will give them lightsabers as pickaxes, and maybe 2026 will be the year that it finally happens.

Additionally, there has been a mini-season in November for three years now, and the community doesn’t believe that will stop happening anytime soon. Another special season will likely occur between October 29 and November 28. If so, gamers can expect Chapter 8 to go live on November 28, after downtime for the year’s second-to-last update. Finally, the year will end with an update on December 10, which is bound to add all the Winterfest goodies to Fortnite, such as the lodge, freebies, and holiday weapons. Then, Epic Games employees will have their Christmas break and return after the New Year. There is no doubt that even though players have some idea of when they will gain access to new Fortnite content, Epic Games always has a few surprises up its sleeve. The year has just begun, and players have a lot to look forward to.
