By newsgame

Steam revealed its top 100 best-selling games of 2025, with lists that were divided into games that were only launched in 2025, along with games that were played via Steam Deck and Steam VR. Some of 2025’s top titles, including ARC Raiders, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, dominated the Steam best-sellers list.

Despite a rough year for the gaming industry, 2025 saw some amazing game launches across various genres. From the award-winning RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to indie multiplayer sensations like R.E.P.O., Peak, and RV There Yet, PC gamers have had no shortage of options to pick from throughout the year. Even games that were previously console exclusives, such as Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Stellar Blade, hit their stride on Steam throughout 2025. With Steam being the preferred storefront of PC gaming, a majority of 2025’s top-selling titles made some sizable revenue thanks to Valve and its global user base.

On December 29, Steam gave users a look at which games that were launched this year made the most revenue on the platform. Online multiplayer games, including ARC Raiders, Battlefield 6, Schedule I, Dune: Awakening, and Elden Ring: Nightreign, dominated Steam’s Top 12 games of 2025 by revenue. Single-player sensations also fared highly on Valve’s charts, as The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 each sold well on Steam throughout the year. Although some of Steam’s top titles of the year received mixed ratings from users due to bugs and various issues, Borderlands 4, Monster Hunter Worlds, Civilization 7, and EA Sports FC 26 also cracked the Top 12.

The tiers that Steam used are Platinum (1st through 12th), Gold (13th through 24th), Silver (25th through 50th), and Bronze (51st to 100th). The games listed on Steam’s full roster were sorted randomly in each tier.

Despite its various accolades, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 fell short of Steam’s Platinum tier in revenue, but still made it into the Gold tier. Other top-rated titles like Dispatch, Doom: The Dark Ages, and Digimon Story: Time Stranger, also placed within the Gold tier of Steam’s bestseller list. The Silver and Bronze tiers of Steam’s best-selling games list of 2025 include several multi-platform releases, such as Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, Ball x Pit, and PowerWash Simulator 2. Every game listed in Steam’s Platinum tier is discounted during the Steam Winter Sale, with Schedule I and Hollow Knight: Silksong available for a combined $29 while the sale lasts. Steam stated that its top 100 bestsellers list of 2025 will be updated on January 15, just days after the Winter Sale concludes.

Steam’s Plans for 2026 Depend on the PC Gaming Market

Although 2025 saw plenty of games go live on Steam, Valve has some major products planned to launch throughout 2026. Chief among these plans is the next iteration of the Steam Machine, a cube-shaped PC that sports an AMD six-core CPU and an RDNA 3 graphics card that can run games at 1080p or 1440p comfortably. The Steam Machine can also utilize AMD’s FSR upscaling technology to play games in 4K, and can access a user’s full Steam game library. The Steam Machine will be accompanied by a new Steam Controller, which will include the touchpads and familiar layout featured on the Steam Deck. As of this writing, information about the Steam Machine’s starting MSRP and precise release date remains elusive, so fans must wait for more information.

However, the launch window and the starting price of the Steam Machine will depend on how the ongoing RAM crisis continues playing out in 2026. Prices of DDR5 RAM kits have quickly risen out of control since October 2025, as prices quadrupled within the last quarter of the year. With the next generation of PlayStation and Xbox consoles potentially affected by the RAM shortage, it remains to be seen how this will affect Valve’s plans going into the year ahead.
