The War Within Player Snags Every Achievement

By newsgame

A World of Warcraft fan has officially earned every obtainable point-awarding achievement in The War Within. Though their victory will be short-lived with Midnight right around the corner, as of right now, this player can officially say they’ve beaten World of Warcraft.

Ever since achievements were first introduced in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, they have provided long-term goals for players to work towards. From exploration and treasure-hunting to raids and Mythic+ dungeons, achievements can be earned by completing all sorts of content in the game.

World of Warcraft Fans Have Some Free Gifts Waiting For Them Under the Winter Veil Tree

The Feast of Winter Veil has arrived in World of Warcraft, and there are a few free gifts that players will want to grab from under the tree.

WoW Player Earns All Possible Achievements in The War Within

However, one player has become the ultimate hero of Azeroth and done it all. WoW fan and completionist Xirev has officially earned every obtainable, point-granting achievement in World of Warcraft: The War Within. As of now, this means Xirev has obtained 53,610 points across 6,661 achievements, including available accolades from every expansion in World of Warcraft’s long history.

While some achievements reward mounts, titles, or other cosmetics, achievement points have no direct use, and are purely for bragging rights and measuring accomplishments.

What makes this even more exceptional is that Xirev has done this for six World of Warcraft expansions in a row. His completionist journey in World of Warcraft started back in Warlords of Draenor, and he has repeated this feat every couple of years since then. On the plus side, this does mean he only needs to complete the new achievements that are added in each expansion. Even so, doing so is no small ask, especially for over a decade of expansions in World of Warcraft.

To do this, Xirev had to earn some particularly grueling achievements. Earning 100 Exalted reputations, defeating hundreds of players in PvP in various zones, looting dozens of rare items, and completing 10,000 World Quests are just a few of the more challenging and time-consuming legacy achievements in the game. The War Within itself had some extremely difficult achievements, including C.H.E.T.T.mate, earned by completing 100 C.H.E.T.T. Lists from World of Warcraft‘s Undermine(d) content update, and Cutting Edge, awarded by defeating Dimensius, the All-Devouring, on Mythic from Ghosts of K’aresh.

What About Xirev’s Missing World of Warcraft Achievements?

Of course, fans might have noticed Xirev only has 6,661 of the 6,666 achievements currently listed on his in-game interface. Xirev explained that two of them are bugged out, and the other three are seasonal Feats of Strength that are normally not included in this count. Beyond that, he has earned 100% of the available evergreen achievements in the game.

Feats of Strength are achievements that do not award points and are usually associated with limited-time events, expansions, or seasonal content, meaning they are not always available, and thus, rarely counted by achievement-hunters.

Though Xirev is often among the first to claim this accolade in each World of Warcraft expansion, it did not come without competition in The War Within. WoW player Aski was right behind Xirev, completing their final achievement a mere two hours after Xirev finished up the Brawler’s Guild. Other famous World of Warcraft content creators like AnnieFuscia have also been known to hit 100% on achievements each year, so fans will have to see which other players are able to join this exclusive club.

That said, there is a time limit on how long players have to 100% World of Warcraft: The War Within. The Midnight expansion arrives on March 2, 2026, but most of the achievements for the expansion will probably be added to World of Warcraft on January 20 along with the pre-expansion update. This means there are fewer than three weeks left before hundreds of new achievements are added to the in-game interface, even if most of them won’t be available to earn until the expansion officially launches. Their victory may be short-lived, but no doubt Xirev and the other World of Warcraft completionists are already planning to 100% Midnight as well.
