It dipped in popularity back in Chapter 2 Season 6, then began to rise once again. In Chapter 2 Season 8, it rose to the Top 5. It remained in the Top 5 quite consistently until now, only decreasing to Top 15 for three seasons. In Chapter 7, it is the fifth most used skin in Fortnite once again.
Chani

Chani’s popularity has gone up and down over the years. After its release, its usage remained steady – between 230 and 320. Then, it peaked in Chapter 3 Season 3, when it rose to Top 50, but it never went higher than this.
According to Fortnite.gg, it is currently in the Top 4 most used Fortnite skins in the entire world. Players should take this with a grain a salt, however, as it rose considerably seemingly out of nowhere; even though its popularity has spiked every time after dipping, it’s never made it so high, and in the last two seasons, it barely made it to Top 900.
Cat Holloway

Battle Pass skins aren’t usually seen in lists compiling the most used skins in Fortnite due to how common they are. According to the data on Fortnite.gg, Backlash has been in the top five most used skins in Fortnite since Chapter 3 started. It dipped to #8 in Chapter 2 Season 8, and below #100 in the previous season, which is strange and could be an error in the data. It is at the top of the list alongside Joltara, which is another variant of the infamous superhero, “sweat” skins and belongs to the same set as Backlash.
About 1.1M players have used Joltara in Chapter 7, and 1.5M players have picked Backlash instead; together, about 2.6M players have chosen these skins this season. Still, these numbers aren’t enough to dethrone the number one champion when it comes to skin popularity this chapter.
