How To Win Gift Of Gab In WWM (Where Winds Meet)
The world of Where Winds Meet is full of fun, interactive mini-games, such as Pitch Pot and Mahjong. One of these mini-games is the Gift of Gab, mostly used to debate with other NPCs. Instead of fighting people with your sword, Young Heroes need to use their wit and a sharp tongue to win arguments. Gift of Gab is also useful for other situations, like bribing a witness not to report a crime. Here’s everything you need to know about Gift of Gab in WWM.
How To Win Gift Of Gab In WWM – Where Winds Meet
Upon starting a conversation with any character that’s up for a debate, you can see which Gift of Gab style they choose to use, and you can choose one too. The game will suggest which style is best against the opponent, so you don’t need to worry about that.
The goal of every Gift of Gab in Where Winds Meet is to use the given cards to decrease the other character’s mental focus to zero. Your mental focus bar is at the bottom-left, while the opponent’s is at the top-center. Each card has a certain effect that can buff your damage/defense, silence the opponent, reduce incoming attack, restore mental focus, and many more.
Young Heroes need inspiration to use cards, and it goes without saying that the higher the inspiration that a card requires, the more effective it is. The cards have a cooldown after each use, so make sure to use them wisely. Inspiration points have a set number from the beginning of the match, and you increase the number by obtaining Gift of Gab Mastery or upgrading your stats in the Profession section.
While debating with a character during the Gift of Gab in WWM, you will occasionally get a QTE that acts as a quick counterattack. You will have a few seconds to press the QTE button, and then players must choose one out of three options. Usually, you can do extra damage or restore some inspiration points.
There is a timer for every Gift of Gab, and if the debate is not done by then, both you and the opponent start to lose mental focus gradually. In short, here are some tips to win any Gift of Gab mini-game in Where Winds Meet:
- Choose the correct Gift of Gab style.
- Use high inspiration cards.
- Be on the lookout for QTE buttons.
- Don’t take too long reading the card effects, as you can always read them slowly in the Profession menu.
- Once the timer runs out, prioritize damage-dealing cards.
It seems that most debates can be replayed even if you lose, so it’s okay if you wish to leave the Gift of Gab mini-game and come back later. Winning a debate yields various rewards, such as Echo Jade and Intelligence. Additionally, players will gain 100 affection points from the character they just defeated.
