Diablo 4 Pang of the Hunt Guide (Season 11)
Pangs of Duriel are a type of enemy that players can find in Diablo 4. While they aren’t exactly new, they play a big part in the Lesser Evils’ invasion of Sanctuary in Season 11, and players will need to hunt some down if they want to complete some seasonal challenges (among other things)
First impressions aside, Pangs of Duriel are a lot more common than some Diablo 4 players might think. While it’s true that these monsters aren’t as omnipresent as everything else, finding one (or a dozen) is actually quite easy.
Diablo 4: How To Find a Helltide Commander
In this article, we’ll show you several Helltide events that guarantee a meeting with the Helltide Commander in Diablo 4.
Diablo 4 Pangs of Duriel Location
You can find Pangs of Duriel only in Helltide zones. They can sometimes be found randomly roaming the countryside, but if you want to force a Pang of Duriel to appear in Diablo 4, then all you have to do is keep killing enemies until the Frenzy meter (denoted by the evil eye icon below your Aberrant Cinder counter) is full.
As the Frenzy meter reaches certain breakpoints, a message will appear saying that Hell’s minions are getting mad. When the meter is maxed out, a huge wave of enemies will spawn. By the end of that wave, a message saying that a champion of Hell has appeared, and in Season 11, this champion is guaranteed to be a Pang of Duriel.
Pangs of Duriel are essentially miniature versions of Duriel himself. They’re nowhere near as powerful as the big boss himself, though they do drop more loot than your typical Helltide monster.
Diablo 4 Pang of the Hunt Objective
The Pang of the Hunt objective for Season 11 Chapter 3 requires players to defeat 66 Pangs of Duriel on Penitent difficulty or higher. As mentioned above, the best way to do this is to just run Helltides for a while and kill everything in your way. The higher the mob density, the better.
While you’re at it, equip the Essence of Pain in your Purified slot. This makes Pangs of Duriel drop Gem Fragments and Runes whenever you defeat them. It won’t make the Pang of the Hunt objective progress any faster, but it’ll make every Pang of Duriel kill that much more rewarding.
Frenzied demon waves are tracked separately per player. If you can run with a group, then you can potentially summon more than one Pang of Duriel at a time when you each hit max Frenzy during Helltides. You don’t need to be in a party with anyone, and this can work even if you’re just following someone around.
