Z-A side mission if you want the best farming method in the game
Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s Mega Dimension DLC came out just two weeks ago, but it has completely reshaped the game in various ways. There are new shiny hunting methods in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, which is great after the removal of the “spawn overload” glitch from the base game, as well as many returning Pokemon and ways to get them in Hyperspace Lumiose. If that wasn’t enough, you can shiny hunt five Legendary Pokemon, get a total of 9 Legendaries and 11 Mythicals, farm rare items with specific Donut Powers, and more. Yet, the DLC also brings the best overall farming method in the game, but it becomes immediately inaccessible once you complete a specific side quest.
There are 200 Side Missions in Pokemon Legends: Z-A after the release of the DLC.
Not all side missions in Pokemon Legends: Z-A are very meaningful, either in terms of story or rewards, but there are a few notable exceptions. The Goodbye, Gengar mission can bring you to tears, for example. In contrast, two base-game quests involving Raichu are necessary to access a different mission to obtain both new Mega Evolutions for the beloved Gen 1 critter. However, you should not complete one of them unless you really want to beat the game in its entirety, and that’s Side Mission 157: What’s Wafting from Wigglytuff?
Want to Catch ’em All? This is How You Find All Legendary and Mythical Pokemon in Legends: Z-A
Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Dimension DLC brings back multiple Legendary and Mythical Pokemon, and here’s how to catch ’em all.
Say Hello to Pokemon Legends: Z-A DLC’s Best Farming Method
This mission is available after unlocking Hyperspace Mission 8, and it’s available in the Bleu District of Lumiose City, near Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s Wild Zone 10. Here, an NPC by the name of Bain will ask you to help him clean his Wigglytuff, who dislikes showers and thus needs to be washed in battle with the move Bubble Beam. Bain asks you to battle him and his Wigglytuff only when you have a Pokemon with Bubble Beam learned. Doing so will complete the quest, but you shouldn’t do it just yet.
Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Best Money, XP, and EVs Farming Method Explained
You can battle Bain and defeat his Wigglytuff even with different Pokemon, as long as you have a Pokemon with Bubble Beam on the team. If you do, the game will award you with 4,752 Poke Dollars, which is not a lot, but it’s very quick and easy money. Once Bain realizes you haven’t washed his Wigglytuff with Bubble Beam, he will ask you to do so again. The caveat is that you can endlessly battle Bain as long as a Pokemon on your team has Bubble Beam as a move, but otherwise, you can keep defeating him over and over. Doing this awards you the following:
- 4,752 Poke Dollars per battle, with each battle taking less than a minute, including dialogue.
- Endless XP for your Pokemon below level 100.
- Endless HP EVs – specifically, 3 HP EVs every time you defeat Bain’s Wigglytuff.
This is incredible because many Pokemon benefit from high HP EVs in the game, with most of Pokemon Legends: Z-A‘s best teams using multiple max-HP, max-attack-stat critters, meaning you can max one of these stats for free rather than spending 5,000 Poke Dollars each on HP Up bottles. Furthermore, you will get millions of Poke Dollars in just a few hours of farming, which can then serve you for a long time.
Technically, the Z-A Infinite Royale method of heading to the battle zone near Wild Zone 8 is better, but it is an active method, exclusively. Instead, defeating Bain’s Wigglytuff can be entirely automated with a simple Nintendo Switch turbo controller, and even more easily with a programmable controller. In fact, you can have the controller press A as its turbo button and place a rubber band on the ZL button to auto-target the Wigglytuff.
As for what kind of Pokemon to use, any high-attack Poison or Steel-type Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Z-A will do, but for optimal performance, a level 100 Metagross with Heavy Slam and max Attack EVs and IVs is recommended. This will one-shot the Wigglytuff, and you can manually press A to cycle through Bain’s dialogue or use a turbo controller to do it for you until the battle starts again. This is the single best multi-resource farming method in the game, considering you can max HP EVs, Poke Dollars, and XP all at once, but unfortunately, it goes away after you defeat the Wigglytuff with Bubble Beam.
