New Witcher 3 DLC Estimated to Come in 2026

By newsgame

The Witcher 3 could get new paid DLC 11 years after it first came out, according to one analyst. CD Projekt Red’s 2015 RPG has remained popular among fans since its release, but lately, most attention has shifted to what sequels and spin-offs the Polish studio has in the pipeline. However, fans may get more The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt content before they get their hands on any of CDPR’s other upcoming games.

CD Projekt Red had delayed The Witcher 3‘s cross-platform mod support patch into 2026 after announcing it for the game’s 10-year anniversary, though it’s still unclear when exactly that update will roll out. Beyond that, there’s now more noise behind the rumor that Witcher 3 DLC could also come in 2026, and it could kickstart a train of marketing efforts and game releases over the next few years.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt approaches a major sales milestone a decade after launch, with the RPG closing in on Skyrim’s total numbers.

Analyst Says Witcher 3 DLC Is Coming May 2026, Witcher 4 Coming in Late 2027

An analyst at Noble Securities named Mateusz Chrzanowski has released a deluge of information about CDPR’s upcoming projects, starting with Witcher 3 DLC. Rumors first emerged that The Witcher 3 could get new story DLC in the summer of 2025, and now Chrzanowski has estimated it will come out in May 2026 to the tune of $30. Despite the game being over 10 years old, Noble Securities expects this paid content to perform fairly well, predicting it will sell roughly 11 million copies. Releasing it may be more of a promotional tactic for the Witcher franchise than anything else, as this new report also claims the DLC will also kick off the Witcher 4‘s full marketing campaign.

After The Witcher 3 gets its “one more patch” and story DLC, all eyes turn to the next game in the series. According to Chrzanowski, The Witcher 4 will release sometime in Q4 2027, which is in line with previous estimates. CDPR has already announced that it plans to release The Witcher 4, 5, and 6 within a six-year window, so if Noble Securities’ projection is correct, and no major delays occur, the new Witcher trilogy could conclude by late 2033. Chrzanowski says that ambitious timeline is still on the table for now, but the trilogy’s budget has ballooned from roughly $586 million to nearly $900 million. Those skyrocketing costs could give CDPR more reason to release the games so close to one another and drive more consistent revenue.

Next on the docket after The Witcher 4 is Cyberpunk 2, formerly known as “Project Orion.” Earlier reports from CDPR suggested that Cyberpunk 2 may not come out until at least 2030, and Noble Securities has reaffirmed that timeline in this new report. Chrzanowski says the inclusion of multiplayer features has extended the firm’s estimate on when the game will release, so CDPR could now be looking at a Q4 2030 window, possibly aiming to launch it on or around Cyberpunk 2077‘s 10-year anniversary.

Two more Witcher games could come out before then. The report predicts “Project Sirius,” a multiplayer Witcher game, and “Canis Majoris,” a remake of the first Witcher, will both release in 2028. That’s a year later than Noble Securities had originally expected, which makes sense in light of how CDPR absorbed the Project Sirius studio earlier in 2025 following some development troubles. Finally, the mysterious “Project Hadar,” a brand-new IP, is now projected to come out in 2032 and is reportedly still in the “pre-concept” phase. Of course, all of these dates are just projections and are subject to change, but there is a lot to look forward to for CD Projekt Red fans.
