ARC Raiders Player Attempts To Solo a Leaper But Things Go Horribly Wrong
Attempting to solo the fast-moving leaper enemy during a round, one ARC Raiders player quickly realized that their once creative plan had some very unfortunate downsides. While retaining the core elements of the extraction shooter genre, namely the PvPvE elements and the potential for losing all loot and gear upon death, fans have continued to flock to ARC Raiders since it launched in October. While Embark keeps the game constantly evolving through new content and updates, part of the appeal is how rich and dynamic each raid can be.
So far, there has been no shortage of stories and videos shared by players during their runs. Many have highlighted how ruthless some players can be, though others shared footage of totally random and sometimes hilarious events or interactions while playing. During the Cold Snap update, one ARC Raiders player rallied the server into helping create a massive fireworks show on top of the Spaceport Towers near the middle of the map with the colored lights lighting up the sky in a wonderfully timed explosion. However, some posted videos aren’t always so successful.

ARC Raiders Player Solo Attempt Goes Horribly Wrong in an Instant
Since launch, players have discovered a massive difference between the Solo and Groups queues, as the latter can typically be more sweaty and PvP heavy. Even with slightly less risk while running solo, some players take the opportunity to try some new things on their own, testing the limits of their build or maybe seeing if they’re ready to tackle a new challenge against the various machines of ARC Raiders. Occasionally, even a well-made plan can have some devastating holes in it.
A good example comes from the ARC Raiders subreddit where a user named YouAnswerToMe posted a short video of their attempt to solo the Leaper. As players may already know, ARC Raiders‘ Leaper enemy is a fast-moving machine, capable of not only closing the gap between itself and players by running at them, but also through a propulsion system that allows them to hop distances that even some players felt were too far away. For YouAnswerToMe, the rapid movement of the Leaper caused more trouble than they likely bargained for.
Armed with a Showstopper grenade, the player quickly stunned the Leaper to slow it down and knock it over so that they could then plant a Deadline mine on it. Planting it on the core of the Leaper, the player took a bit of damage before backing away a safe distance and waiting to see the enemy erupt into flames. However, the Leaper had other plans as it used its jump jet to quickly reach the player, right as the Deadline mine’s timer exploded, completely wiping them both out. Interestingly enough, it seems the Leaper’s act of landing on the player took out the remaining health while the Deadline then exploded to finish the job, sending them straight back to Speranza before YouAnswerToMe’s teammates could potentially help.
Other players relayed their own experiences with the Leaper, an enemy that has proven to be more formidable than many give it credit for due to its ability to move fast and reach locations previously thought impossible. Others appreciated how meme-worthy the whole thing was, getting a good laugh at how poorly the whole encounter went.
Between ARCs and other players, there’s a lot of danger to try and avoid Topside. One player, feeling a bit burnt out on so many PvP-centric lobbies, decided to change things up a bit. Instead of playing the normal way, this ARC Raiders player joined the ARC enemies by hijacking a ride on a Rocketeer and using it to fly around, dancing on top of it, and shooting fireworks. The event took place over multiple rounds and even kicked off a new friendship after being revived by random players watching from below.
