Nintendo’s Hits For The Holidays 2025 Sale Is Now Live
Nintendo fans can now save some money on several digital Switch and Switch 2 titles during the Hits For The Holidays sale that kicked off on the Nintendo eShop on December 22. Nintendo customers have until January 5 to score deals on titles like Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, Hades 2, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Super Mario Odyssey.
The Hits For The Holidays event comes amid a busy shopping season across the gaming industry. Despite the rising costs of games and consoles, that has not stopped Nintendo and various third-party developers from offering various deals for customers to consider. Although Black Friday has long been considered one of the busiest shopping seasons, companies like Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft have also used the end of December as a profitable window to offer discounts on various goods. These include last-minute deals on gifts like a new Nintendo Switch 2 carrying case or microSD Express cards of various sizes.

Nintendo’s Hits For The Holidays Sale Is Dominated By Deep Discounts On Third-Party Titles
Although Nintendo is known for its first-party classics, several third-party games have been noticeably discounted on the eShop. The most eye-catching discount currently on the Nintendo eShop is for Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, currently priced at $17.99 for the Switch 2. The 75% discount from its usual $69.99 price tag is the game’s deepest discount to date, even lower than prices previously listed for Cyberpunk 2077 on PC storefronts like Steam and GOG Galaxy. Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition comes with both the base game and the Phantom Liberty expansion. Although Cyberpunk 2077 is a graphically demanding game, the Switch 2 version uses Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling technology to render the game at a higher framerate without sacrificing too much graphical quality in either TV mode or Handheld mode.
Other third-party games that are available at a discount include Ball x Pit, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, No Man’s Sky, and Hades 2. For games that are available on both the original Switch and the Switch 2, the discounts are the same across both consoles. However, shoppers should double-check the version of the game they want to purchase, and check which ones have a Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade option available via the eShop. As for first-party game discounts, some of Nintendo’s previous Black Friday deals have returned for another round. Super Mario Odyssey and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe are now down to $39.99, while The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Fire Emblem Engage, and Princess Peach: Showtime are available for $41.99 each.
Now Is The Best Time To Jump To The Switch 2
Nintendo’s Hits For The Holidays event comes at an opportune time for gamers looking to save money where possible. As the cost of games, consoles, and accessories continues to rise throughout 2025, the issue has since been further exacerbated by the ongoing RAM shortage crisis. Additionally, an internal memo from GameStop stated that the Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle has been discontinued by Nintendo, and that further restocks would just be the base Switch 2 console. On December 22, Nintendo confirmed on social media that the Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle was still available in limited quantities at retailers like Best Buy and Walmart. Ergo, users looking to get the Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle for Christmas still have a small window of opportunity to get it before they’re sold out.
Between the ongoing Nintendo eShop sale and a slew of Switch 2 titles scheduled to arrive in January, gamers will have no shortage of options for filling out their Switch and Switch 2 game collections. What surprises Nintendo has in store in early 2026 remains to be seen.
