Cozy Xbox Console Exclusive Coming to Nintendo Switch on December 10
Little Rocket Lab is coming to the Nintendo Switch on December 10. The Switch version of the 2025 indie game will arrive mere months following its original debut, ending its short period of Xbox console exclusivity.
The first-ever project from Canadian developer Teenage Astronauts, Little Rocket Lab is a cozy genre hybrid that’s part RPG, part a factory automation game. It tells a story of a young engineer called Morgan who’s looking to build a rocket ship while restoring her childhood home and turning it into a full-fledged factory in the process. Due to the complexity of the project, Morgan needs to start small, constructing an entire supply chain before progressing to her ultimate goal. To do so, she has to explore, gather resources, and strategically plan her factory’s expansion. The story unfolds in a cozy village populated by friendly NPCs, whom the protagonist can befriend and help.
After Xbox Launch, Little Rocket Lab Quietly Gets Nintendo Switch Release Date
Little Rocket Lab originally launched for the Xbox Series X/S and PC on October 7. A month later, the game has now been confirmed to be coming to the Switch on December 10. The release date was quietly revealed on Little Rocket Lab‘s eShop page, which lists the game at $19.99, consistent with its price on Steam and the Xbox/Microsoft Store. Publisher No More Robots has not explained why the Switch version did not launch alongside the Xbox and PC editions. However, the short delay likely reflects additional development time needed by Teenage Astronauts to complete the port, rather than any platform exclusivity agreement, which typically lasts longer than two months.
Apart from resource gathering and factory expansion, Little Rocket Lab features puzzles to solve, quests to complete, and a wide variety of convoluted contraptions to build. Its cozy town setting is divided into numerous areas, including coasts, quarries, underground areas, and rail yards, each with a theme and its own set of challenges. Crowdsourced data suggests that a fairly comprehensive playthrough of Little Rocket Lab takes around 33 hours, which is comparable to many other cozy indie games in a similar price range, averaging well under a dollar per hour of entertainment.
No More Robots’ Switch Catalog Keeps Growing
Little Rocket Lab will mark No More Robots’ 15th Switch game release to date. With its eShop debut, the title will be available on all platforms announced to date. While no additional ports have been confirmed, the British publisher has previously brought multiple releases—including Descenders Next, Soccer Story, and Fashion Police Squad—to Sony’s consoles, making a future PlayStation version of Little Rocket Lab a possibility. Switch owners interested in cozy games may also want to check out Spirittea, a Cheesemaster Games-developed life sim with Stardew Valley and Spirited Away vibes that No More Robots launched on the eShop in late 2023.
